Hi

I have a SonyEricsson W810i and I am trying to set-up e-mail on the embedded e-mail
client.

I have already set-up a data conncection according to provider settings and a Google e-mail

account.

Google mail works just fine and I am able to send and receive e-mail with the following
settings:

imap.gmail.com port 993

smtp.gmail.com port 587

with SSL/TLS.

I tried to setup my Hotmail and my Yahoo mail accounts as well using these settings:

For Y! mail here (settings are on the imap tab)

and for Hotmail these settings.

The problem is that I am getting SSL errors for both Hotmail and Y! mail (cannot create a
secure connection...).

It does not seem to be something associated with the cellular provider, since with the same
provider

Hotmail and Yahoo mail on embedded mail...

(Cosmote, Greece) and a Nokia phone using Nokia's embedded client, I can connect to all
three accounts.

Is is an SSL mismatch, or - maybe - missing security certificates? Are these e-mail services
compatible with my phone?

Do I need to install additional certificates? If so, which ones? And where can I find them?

Many thanks

Best Regards

1) For the Hotmail email client, I use the following settings on my W995 (Virgin, UK) which
work fine:

For POP :

Server address: pop3.live.com

Encryption: SSL

Port: 995

Username: Your full email address

Password: Your password

For SMTP:

Server address: smtp.live.com

Encryption: TLS

Port: 587

SMTP authentication: Same as POP3--(This means that you don't need to enter your
Username and Password)

2) I'm not sure about Yahoo because you have a Greek mobile number, but try these
settings:

For IMAP:

Server address: imap.mobile.mail.yahoo.com

Encryption: No encryption

Port: 143

Username: Your full email address

Password: Your password

For SMTP:

Server address: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com

Encryption: No encryption

Port: 2525

Username: Your full email address

Password: Your password

SMTP authentication: Enabled

Let me know what works.
