2. Agency responsible: Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA), Health Canada

3. Products covered (provide tariff item number(s) as specified in national schedules
deposited with the WTO; ICS numbers should be provided in addition, where

6. Description of content: Currently, maximum residue limits (MRLs) are legally established
in Canada under the Food and Drug Regulations (FDR) after consultation through the
Canada Gazette. Amendments to the Food and Drugs Act (FDA) via Bill C-28, anticipated
to come into force in 2008, will allow pesticide MRLs to be legally established under the Pest
Control Products Act (PCPA) without having to adopt MRLs by regulation under the FDA.
The objective of this document is to consult on the listed MRLs for trifloxystrobin, including
the metabolite CGA-321113, that have been proposed by the PMRA since the PCPA came
into force on 28 June 2006. Consultation is being initiated in advance of Bill C-28 coming
into force so that the MRLs listed in this document can be legally established as soon as
possible after the FDA is amended.

(Note that an MRL of 0.04 ppm was previously proposed for trifloxystrobin on almonds in
the document Transitioning the Legal Establishment of Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) for
Pesticides from the Food and Drugs Act to the Pest Control Products Act: Consultation on
Proposed MRLs (PMRL2006-01), notified under G/SPS/N/CAN/276.) The listed
