    United Nations Core Values: Integrity, Professionalism, Respect for Diversity

Background
In an effort to communicate more effectively with internal and external clientele, the Human
Resources Management Section (HRMS) of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and
the Pacific is seeking to redesign its materials and communications to be more user-friendly,
readable, and identifiable as products of HRMS. To this end, it is important to establish a
branding that is clearly identifiable by clients, and reflect positively on HRMS, ESCAP and the
UN.

Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Human Resources, the consultant will complete
the following objectives:

   • Establish a brand mark (logotype) readily identifiable on print and web-based products
       as belonging to HRMS, and sub-brandings for medical services and learning;
   • Design templates for internal print communications to staff and managers within
       ESCAP;
   • Design templates for print advertisements for job openings for use in external
       publications;
   • Redesign the current print version of the ESCAP information guide for new staff
       members.

Expected products and outputs

   • Present six options for logotypes/corporate identities for HRMS with two sub-identities
       for medical services and learning under each. Once UN selects one set of logotypes,
       possibly with minor modifications, consultant will finalize corporate identity package by
       presenting, in print and electronic format, several sizes of logotypes for UN use.

   • Design draft MS Word template for one-page information notes, based on model
       provided by UN. Finalize after consultations with UN.

   •   Design six draft print advertisement templates based on models provided by UN;
       templates may be in MS Word or MS PowerPoint format; finalize after consultations
       with UN.

   • Redesign the current 42-page MS Word-based information guide for new staff (format
       only) into a new user-friendly and visually appealing document. The new version will
       include graphics, photos and maps, as appropriate. The document should be created
       for use as both hard copy and electronic version for use on the internet. New version
       should include search functionality within the document in addition to a clear index
       and any relevant appendices. Consultant would present one chapter of the redesigned
       document for comments prior to finalizing the entire document.

                                           Page 1 of 2

     Nations staff.
