                                         LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
                                         DECEMBER 13-16, 2006

The event Organizing Committee supported by the USA Table Tennis Disabled Athletes Committee, the American Wheelchair
Table Tennis Association, and U.S. Paralympics, a division of the USOC, is delighted to inform you that on December 13-16,
they will be hosting the 2006 U.S. Paralympics Table Tennis Championships at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las
Vegas, Nevada.

We have received entries from 21 countries including the USA with more than 80 wheelchairs and standing disabled athletes
participating. Countries sending teams to Las Vegas include Australia, Austria, Canada, Costa Rica, Denmark, Germany,
Ghana, Great Britain, Greece, Iceland, Korea, Liechtenstein, Mexico, Philippines, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and
of course, USA! Since 1994 USA Table Tennis has hosted the US Nationals for disabled athletes in Las Vegas in conjunction
with US Closed National Championships. This is the second straight year that we will be hosting an open international
Paralympic tournament instead of a closed US Nationals.

The officials for the tournament are Referee Karol Ziduliak of Canada, Deputy Referee Chris Williams of the United States,
Technical Delegate Leandro Olvech of Argentina, Organizing Chair and Manager Jennifer Johnson, Tournament Directors
David Del Vecchio and Sharon Frant Brooks of the United States, and International Classifiers Dr. Norma Angelica Patino
Marquez of Mexico and Nardia Vaccaro of Argentina.

The official tournament equipment is Butterfly tables, nets and 40mm Nittaku 3-star orange balls. We will play on a total of 18
tables suitable for wheelchair and standing competition. Play will be held on two surfaces – red rubberized floor for standing
players and concrete for wheelchairs athletes.

The official tournament hotel is the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino of Las Vegas. Meals will be provided by the hotel. The City
of Las Vegas Adaptive Recreation Division will provide the athletes with lunches for two of the days of competition.
Transportation between the Stratosphere and the Las Vegas Convention Center will be via wheelchair equipped shuttle

In addition to the competition itself, two Education Programs will be held in conjunction with the tournament at the Sierra
Room of the Stratosphere Hotel. Nardia Vaccaro, International Classifier from Argentina, will conduct a Classification seminar
on Monday December 11 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The following day, Karol Ziduliak of Canada will hold an IPTTC officials
certification seminar starting at 8:00 pm in the Stratosphere’s Sierra Room at the Stratosphere.

Members of the organizing committee are: Jennifer Johnson, Chair, Sharon Frant Brooks and David Del Vecchio.

We look forward to welcoming you to Las Vegas in December!
