Client Submits Crystal Report 2. Request is created in the Report Queue 3. SkyRAS Service connects to Monolith CAS 4. SkyRAS AppServer pulls report information from the Skyward Database 5. SkyRAS Service receives report information and parameters from the AppServer 6. SkyRAS Service pulls from the Skyward Database using an ODBC connection. 7. SkyRAS Service Processes report using they Crystal 11 Engine. 8. SkyRAS Service exports the report to the storage location 9. SkyRAS service updates the Report Queue Record 10. Client sees the report as complete and can view the report SkyRAS Crystal Report Processing • The number of Crystal Reports processed at one time can be adjusted by adding the Crystal:# parameter to the Report Queue Agent Config File. The default used is two and does not require the parameter to be added to the Agent Config File. • It would not be advisable to set this above 25, as there are three Crystal processes occurring at once and Crystal can only handle 75 threads at one time. • If there are multiple databases using the Report Queue Service, the Crystal:# parameter is split between all, as it’s needed. • Typically SkyRAS.exe uses 2 to 3 % of the processor per report Copying Crystal Reports • Existing Custom reports created in Crystal need to be copied to the Web Crystal Storage locations. 1. Browse to Web Student menu path of CR\PS\UT\CR 2. Click Add 3. Enter a Template Description 4. Select the Copy Customer Reports checkbox 5. Select the Copy Skyward Reports checkbox 6. Click Save and Run. 7. This process copies reports to the Skyward Report Location Install the Web Quick Picks Viewer • There is a Windows and MAC OSX viewer • The Download Viewer button (WS\CR\RE) will change depending the client computer 1. Browse to Web Student menu path CR\RE 2. Apply filter. 3. Click Download Viewer for Windows/MaC 4. Click Run. 5. Click Run 6. Click Next, at the Welcome Screen. 7. Accept the License Agreement and click Next. 8. Click Next to start the installation. 9. (Accept all the defaults for the Viewer Installation) Testing Web Quick Pick Reports • Running a Crystal Report (WS\CR\RE) 1. Browse to Web Student menu path CR\RE 2. Apply filter. 3. Choose the Appropriate Entity 4. Highlight a report – ex. Emergency Phone Listing 5. Click Run 6. Click Print 7. Report Processes in Print Queue popup window 8. When complete highlight report and click view 9. Click Open and the report will open in the Crystal 11 viewer SkyRAS Troubleshooting • The SkyRAS Service will log to the Event Viewer in the Skyward group • There can only be one SkyRAS AppServer per database • The SkyRAS Service includes the Crystal 11 report processing engine • The SkyRAS AppServer is used minimally to pull data to/from the database, it does not do any crystal report processing • If SkyRAS fails to connect to the CAS Service it will automatically retry again after 60 minutes.
