                               Netball Rules Test – Answers

1.
        The Umpire flips a coin, the visiting captain chooses heads or tails and chooses to
         either take the first centre pass or which end to shoot.
        The centre pass is then taken once all players are onside (only C position may be
         in the centre third).
        The ball may be played when the umpire blows their whistle. (award one mark
         for each point)

2.

        Once the player receives the ball they may not take more than 2 steps, the first
         foot to touch the floor must stay planted.
        If it is removed from the floor it may not be re-planted
        The players may not drag the landing foot
        If the player lands two footed they may choose which foot to pivot with, the other
         foot then becomes the landing foot and may not be moved.

3.
        A free pass to the opposite team is awarded
        The free pass is taken from where the infringement occurred
        Any player (onside) may take the pass.

        All players must be onside before the ball is played
        The ball must not be thrown before the whistle is blown.
        Once the C player steps into the centre circle they have 3 seconds to pass the ball

        GD, GA, GS, GK (award one mark for each correct answer, max 2)

7.

        The player that caused the infringement must stand by the side of the player
         taking the penalty pass or shot
        Any member of the opposite team (only if onside) may take the pass/shot
