                     The Sixth Sunday of Easter

        Please fill out a welcome card found in the pews and pass it to an usher or
place it in the offering plate. Thank you for joining our worship!

SUMMER SCHEDULE BEGINS TODAY!
       We have returned to the summer worship schedule with just one worship
service at 9:30 am. The first and third Sundays of the month will be traditional
services. The second and fourth will be 2 Copper Coins contemporary worship
services. A fifth Sunday, July 31st, will be a traditional service.

MEMORIAL DAY SERVICES – May 30th
      FYI – Here are the times for the services to be held tomorrow in honor of
Memorial Day:
      Chisago Memorial Park – 10 am
      West Green Lake Cemetery – 10:30 am
      South Green Lake Cemetery – 11 am

NATIONAL SURVIVORSHIP DAY
        The American Cancer Society recognizes June 5th as National Survivorship
Day. The Relay for Life Chisago County event will take place on July 22-23, 2011
at the Almelund Threshing Grounds and everyone is invited, not just people
touched by cancer. Luminaries line the track guiding people as they walk telling
the story of friends and family we have lost to cancer as well as those who have
won the battle. Luminaries will be sold following the service on June 5th, they are
$10 each and can be decorated in memory or in honor of someone who had
cancer. Please remember to wear your survivor shirts next Sunday in honor of
National Survivorship Day!

SPECIAL MUSIC NEEDED
        We need special music during the summer months as our choir will not be
singing. If you are interested in sharing special music please sign up on the
bulletin board in the narthex area. The following Sundays are available: July 3, 31,
and August 7.

YOUTH NEWS
      Campership Money is available for Luther Point. Talk to Alicia or
        Todd for further info.
MEN’S BIBLE STUDY
       We had 8 men at our first meeting this week. Please join us for thought
provoking conversation as we dip into the New Testament book of James. We
meet at 7:00 am, Friday mornings, in Zion’s Fellowship Hall. P.S. We have
goodies and coffee…..it‟s a full meal deal!

LUTHERAN NIGHT AT TARGET FIELD
       Zion‟s 11th annual trip to the Minnesota Twins for Lutheran Night will be at the
beautiful Target Field on Monday, August 22, 2011. The Twins will play the Baltimore
Orioles. Tickets are $23, with one dollar going to Thrivent Builds for Habitat for
Humanity. Thrivent will be providing free bus transportation. Ticket sales begin this
morning following the service. Tickets will be sold today as well as the first three
Sundays in June. For more info, call Marilyn Rignell at 257-6251.

MISSION TRIP FUNDRAISER
        Our last and final mission trip fundraiser will be a Tupperware Party here at
Zion. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall on Thursday, June 9th at 6:30 p.m.
Tupperware has some great items, and we would love for you to come check it out!!
Join us for goodies and a chance to meet some of the mission trip kids. All are
invited. See you there!!
RELAY FOR LIFE – SCHWANS FUNDRAISER
        Want to try some REALLY GOOD FOOD and help fight cancer at the same
time? Participate in the Relay for Life SCHWAN’S DAY sponsored by Zion‟s
Unhampered Walkers. Catalogs will be available in the office and pre-orders are
recommended. Please fill in your order forms and write your name at the top of
the form, then place it in Sherri Baumann‟s mailbox in the office. The Schwan‟s
truck will be here on Sunday, June 5th so you can pick up your orders. Great time
to try something new!

TOUR DE CURE
        This will be held on Saturday, June 4th. Jessica Swanberg will be riding to
benefit the work of the American Diabetes Association. Please help support her
team and the cause.

WOMEN OF FAITH
        We will be organizing a group to attend this event, being held on Oct. 21/
22nd at the Xcel Energy center. Join us for a video presentation and registration
meeting on June 12, 10:30 am in Rm. 124.

PENTECOST SUNDAY – JUNE 12th
         Do you know a foreign language? Would you share your reading talents
with others. On Pentecost Sunday, June 12th, we will be reading the text for the
day in various languages and would like to have you join in this „Speaking in
Tongues‟ similarity. The text will be printed in the language of your choice and
given to you prior to the day. YOU WILL NOT BE READING ALONE. Many
others will be reading the same text in their languages at the same time. If you are
willing to participate, please contact Virgi Johnson at 257-9878.
PANCAKES WITH THE PASTOR
       Those interested in becoming a member of Zion are invited to attend
“Pancakes with the Pastor” on Sunday, June 12th at 10:30 am. We hope you will
attend the 2 Copper Coins Contemporary worship service at 9:30 am and then
come to the Fellowship Hall for breakfast. This morning will give you an
opportunity to ask questions, make comments, and get to know some of the
people that serve Zion. Please RSVP to Deb Esmay at 651-257-2376 if you plan
on attending. New members will be received the next Sunday, June 19th at 9:30
am.

SHEPHERDING MINISTRY - VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
        Our SECOND Seniors and Friends special service and luncheon is coming
up on June 15th and volunteers are needed to make this a meaningful event for all.
The plan is to provide a special Picnic lunch and we are looking for help with the
food (this time we would appreciate $$ donations to cover the cost of the meat) as
well as a few volunteers to make potato salad and baked beans, and several
people to make bars or cookies. We also need some willing hands in the kitchen
and drivers available to pick up our seniors that need a ride. There is a sign-up
sheet on the Bulletin Board … Please prayerfully consider this opportunity to help
and sign up or let Sherri Baumann know.

LUTHER POINT CAMP!! NOT TOO LATE TO REGISTER!!!
        Greetings from Luther Point and Luther Park. Campers, campers, just a
quick update. Luther Point is running behind on camper registrations this summer.
We could really use a boost. We encourage all middle school age students to
register. There are plenty of dates still available for all ages. Check out the camp
website at www.LutherPoint.org. Campership money is available if the cost of
camp is holding you back. Please speak to Alicia regarding money that is
available.
