Senior Internal Auditor (Contract Auditor)

Current Job Opportunity is in the area of Construction Contract Audits
The incumbent chosen to fill our current vacancy will serve as a leader of an audit team, and
will plan and coordinate complex and sensitive audits of procurement contracts pertaining to
the Los Angeles Unified School District’s construction and modernization program.
SALARY: $63,900 - $78,000 Annually
Key areas of responsibility include:
• Providing support to District procurement officials in areas such as claims and litigation
• Conducting audits of all contracts which include goods and services of the District’s
procurement system (e.g., incurred cost audits, change order audits, claim audits, defective
pricing audits, pre-award and post-award audits).
• Evaluating the adequacy of the contractors’ internal controls and accounting systems to
determine their stability as it pertains to being able to follow through with the obligations of a
• Assisting District contracting officials by reviewing cost proposals and advising on the
reasonableness of the proposed costs.
The ideal candidate for the current job vacancy will possess the following: a) experience
auditing construction contracts, b) three years of professional-level audit experience in internal
auditing, public accounting, government, or private industry, c) graduation from a recognized college
or university with a bachelor’s degree. Although candidates who meet the requirements for the Audit
Manager job classification may apply, candidates meeting the above stated requirements may be
