President’s Corner
Dear Fellow Rotarians,

Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims and their families in the wake of the disaster in Japan. Such
events remind us of how precious life is.

Thank you to all of you getting donations for our Wine and Cheese. I know it is not easy particularly since
our community has been hit hard for donations this year. But if you were fortunate enough to be a
volunteer at the "Ready to Smile" project at the middle school or participated in other projects, you realize
that it is imperative to raise the necessary funds. And this is the only way we can do so!

Tickets for the event are available. Be sure to purchase yours in advance. Also, a reminder that each
Rotarian is asked to donate two bottles of wine to the auction. Contact Dennis if you need some guidance.
Or if you prefer, buy a gift certificate from a local business and donate that to the event.

The monthly board meeting is rescheduled for 3/31 due to Spring Break. All members are welcome. 5:30
at my house.

Just received notification that our current RI president Ray Klingsmith will be speaking on Sun. May 2 at
our District Conference held in Coos Bay. I have heard him and he is very dynamic and entertaining.

Another reason to attend the conference! Register online at the District 5110 website. A District Training
Assembly will be held in Cottage Grove on 4/2. This a great way to learn about Rotary, especially valuable
for incoming officers and new members. I have been asked to represent the club in a discussion of the
Pennies for Polio program. We were cited as one of the most successful clubs in raising funds for
PolioPlus. There is no registration fee for either event.

Be on hand this Friday to welcome our newest member, frequent guest and great supporter, Marc Dryden
into our fellowship.

Yours in Service,

Wine and Cheese Extravaganza
