York Alliance Church is seeking to be an outreach-based church committed to Exalting Christ & Loving People by becoming disciples who make disciples. In all of this, prayer is the first work. COMMUNITY CONNECTION Sunday, June 7, 2009 Welcome to this community of faith that gathers weekly to exalt Jesus. Use the various tools and ordinances of worship—singing, prayers, mural painting, Scriptures, Global Update, giving tithes and offerings, choir anthems, preaching of the Word, communion—to allow your heart to enter into a celebration of our God. Note the following as you prepare to worship:  First Work – The altar is open for prayer throughout the service.  Information Center – A welcome packet and other information about YAC ministries and events are available in the lobby.  Communication Card – Visitors and regular attendees, use the card found in each pew to communicate any personal information or needs, and place it in the offering plate or church office slot.  Celebration – Worship tools are projected onscreen and are also available in printed form in the racks located outside each of the rear sanctuary doors.  Wee Worship - During the offering time, children ages 3 through 1st grade are dismissed for their worship gatherings.  Cell Phones – Kindly turn OFF any electronic devices. Heart Connection “Faith is to believe what you do not yet see; the reward for this faith is to see what you believe.” Saint Augustine Message Series “Exodus: Becoming the People of God” (Part 16) Today’s Message “Trust: The Problem with Plenty” Numbers 11:5-34 Central Thought: Not being thankful for God’s provision leads to dissatisfaction, which ultimately leads to a rejection of God Himself. We must learn as God’s people to trust in His provision for us, and ultimately, to trust in the fullness of God given to us in Jesus. PLEASE TAKE NOTE  Annual Outreach Picnic - Invitations are available at the lobby table. Stop by today!  Parents – Student “Sanctuary‖ has moved to various offsite locations for the summer. ―Parktuary‖ begins this Wednesday at Springettsbury Park at 6:00 pm. PRAYER….THE FIRST WORK First Work Night – The Wednesday evening prayer gathering is a time for corporately seeking the Lord together on behalf of one another, the ministries of York Alliance, our missionaries and York County. Join together every Wednesday at 6:00 pm in the annex for an hour of prayer. May we always be found faithful in the discipline of prayer. LIFE GROUP: Living In Fellowship Everyday “Gospel Visibility” “I [Jesus] in them and you [the Father] in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” John 17:23 While the Gospel is always truth because of Who inspired it and Who it points to, it often fails to be true until it ―becomes flesh.‖ While the Gospel needs no assistance to be powerful, it always needs a vehicle in order to be seen and embraced. The body of Christ—the church—will not be edified without a physical and visible expression of the truth of the Gospel between us. It will all be just talk. And the world will never see Jesus or His love without a chance to see it expressed between Christians in a radical way and to pre-Christian people in sacrificial ways. It will all be just exclusive show. Jesus prayed that the purity of our relationships in Him would be visible Jesus and that God loves people just as He loves Jesus. This fact will evidence becoming visible to the world in the ways that we live and treat Jesus outside the walls of the church. God loves seeing Jesus portrayed to to the world, so that the world would believe that God sent always be truth, but it might not become true without the each other. A LIFE group gives us an opportunity to exhibit the world through us. If you would like to learn more about cell group involvement, indicate accordingly on a communication card.
