                                    President’s Message

We had a great meeting at Paoili’s on Tuesday November 7th. Despite having the meeting on a Tuesday
compared to our normal Wednesday meeting, we had a turn out of 23, our largest meeting to date this year. I
wanted to thank Abe Klatt and Lorna Berryessa for aiding in getting such a great turn out. We heard an
interesting talk from Lynda Nahra, Lynda currently serves as President and CEO of Community West Bank
in Goleta. Since assuming her current role, Nahra has helped grow the bank from $300 million to $469
million in assets and led the organization to a 109% increase in net income from 2000 to 2005. She currently
serves as Vice Chairman of the California Bankers Association's State Government Relations Committee and
Public Affairs Committee. She was recently ranked 12th among the "Top 25 Women to Watch in the Nation"
by US Banker and she was also honored by IMA and Robert Half as the Regional Financial Executive of the
Year. I also wanted to thank Abe and Robert Half for providing the plaque for Lynda and the other handouts
for the attendees. I wanted to thank Luis Pelayo for coordinating with Paoli’s to have our events there.

Just a reminder to everyone that there is not going to be a regular monthly meeting for December, we are
taking the month off. I look forward to seeing everyone in the New Year for our Tax Update with Ernst &
Young on January 10, 2007. I hope that everyone has a Happy Holiday and is able to spend time with friends
and family during this time of year.

Best regards,

Jeff Matthews
