We praise the Lord for your willingness to uphold the ministry of BCF in prayer. This bulletin contains information about some new courses and new areas of materials development. As always, the main subject for each praise and prayer item is identified in bold print.

Praise the Lord for the upcoming special 4-day courses in Sarasota, Florida. Pray for wisdom, strength, and encouragement for the administrative teams.

Praise the Lord for the completion of an initial rough draft of the Self-Confrontation manual in Italian. Pray for guidance in determining how best to arrange for a course in Italy in the future. Praise the Lord for those who financially support the ministry of BCF. The Lord has permitted BCF to continue to develop materials and conduct training worldwide because of the loving gifts of these faithful ones. Pray for the Lord to continue to bless and encourage them in their own local ministries. Praise the Lord for the ministry in Albania. Pray that the Lord would make it clear to the Albanian teachers how best to conduct SelfConfrontation courses throughout Albania. Pray also for completion of the Albanian translation of the Student Workbook for the SelfConfrontation Bible Study. Praise the Lord for teachers/leaders in the USA and in other countries who are conducting biblical discipleship/counseling training in their groups, churches, and missions. Pray for both disciplers and disciples, that they may grow mightily in the knowledge and grace of the Lord. Praise the Lord for Gerald Nygren and family, who have faithfully continued to co-labor with us. The Nygrens minister primarily to the Spanishspeaking world. Pray that the Lord will continue to impress individuals to support financially and prayerfully the vital ministry of the entire family. Praise the Lord for the wonderful response to God’s Word during the English and Spanish courses in Palm Springs, California last February. Pray for wisdom, strength, and encouragement for the administrative team as they plan for possible courses in January 2010.

Praise the Lord for the continuing popularity of the Student Workbook for the Self-Confrontation Bible Study. The Workbook can be used for personal Bible study, and a Leader’s Guide is available for one-on-one and small-group discipleship. Pray that the Workbook will prove helpful for individuals and small groups lacking teachers in their local areas. Praise the Lord for the many requests to conduct the BCF training courses in remote areas of the world. Pray that BCF’s ministry leaders will have wisdom on how to direct staff to respond to these requests in a way that is effective and helpful. Praise the Lord for BCF’s board members who continue faithfully to train in their local areas through biblical discipleship/counseling. Please pray for wisdom for the leadership of BCF. Board members: Joe Dyer, Joe Gearo, Gary Hays, Ron Lee, Gerald Nygren, Bob Schneider, Shashi Smith, Spencer Smith, Steve Smith, Stuart Smith, and Lee Weeder. Praise the Lord for our diligent administrative staff members who daily demonstrate love and servanthood in all areas of their responsibilities. Pray for the Lord’s continued blessing of grace for each one in fulfilling his/her office responsibilities. Praise the Lord for the scholarship funds raised for the intensive courses in Hong Kong this past April/ May, which enabled many leaders in sensitive areas of Asia to receive advanced training. Pray that these leaders will know the best way to teach and disciple others throughout their region, and for protection as they minister. Praise the Lord for the invitation to conduct ongoing biblical discipleship/counseling training in Hong Kong specifically to provide advanced training for leaders from sensitive areas in Asia. Pray that funds will continue to be raised for scholarships for needy students who desire to attend, and that the translators will be able to continue working on the Chinese translation of BCF materials so that final draft copies of all training materials are ready in time for future courses. Praise the Lord for the upcoming special 4-day course in Antioch, Tennessee. Pray for wisdom, strength, and encouragement for the administrative teams.

Praise the Lord that the work on the Romanian Self-Confrontation manual is nearly complete and ready for printing. Pray for discernment and wisdom for the Romanian team as they consider translation of the Student Workbook for the Self-Confrontation Bible Study into Romanian.

Praise the Lord for completion of a rough draft of the Arabic translation of the Self-Confrontation manual. Pray for wisdom in coordinating the next step of the translation process and for someone to translate the Student Workbook for the SelfConfrontation Bible Study into Arabic. Praise the Lord for the recent updates and printing of Portuguese Self-Confrontation manuals for ministry in Brazil. Pray for wisdom as the team considers the next phase, translating the Student Workbook for the Self-Confrontation Bible Study into Portuguese. Praise the Lord for the ability to order materials and register for courses on the BCF website. Please pray for discernment in determining how to keep the website an increasingly helpful resource. Praise the Lord that the translation teams have seen the need to translate the Student Workbook for the Self-Confrontation Bible Study into Albanian, Chinese, French, Korean, Portuguese, and Romanian. Pray that the translators will find sufficient time to work on this project since most of the translations must be accomplished after normal work hours. Praise the Lord for the committed teachers who have given freely and sacrificially to minister with us in BCF-conducted intensive courses and weekend seminars. Pray that the Lord will bless them and guide them in determining when to help. Praise the Lord for the churches who have designated BCF as one of the missionary organizations they support. Pray that more churches would support BCF through regular monthly donations.

Praise the Lord for the ongoing training among the prison population. Pray for inmates who receive Self-Confrontation manuals to become powerful witnesses of God’s grace and power, and for BCF to have wisdom to know how to help those involved in prison ministry. Praise the Lord for the good reports about the teaching of Self-Confrontation in the remote and sensitive areas of the world. Pray for wisdom regarding the use of distance learning to teach courses in remote areas. Praise the Lord for the updates to the Spanish translations for the Student Workbook for the Self-Confrontation Bible Study and the Leader’s Guide for the Self-Confrontation Bible Study. Pray for wisdom as the team works on updates for the Level 2 and Level 3 materials. Praise the Lord that the German translation of the Biblical Principles for Discipleship/ Counseling booklet is ready for publication and the German Self-Confrontation manual is in rough draft. Please pray that transition to final publication will be smooth and that the Self-Confrontation course will soon be taught in Germany and Switzerland. Praise the Lord for the progress in translating and updating the Korean versions of the SelfConfrontation manual, Course I Instructor’s Guide and the Student Workbook. Please pray for the Korean team for wisdom, insight, and encouragement as they prepare the materials for publication.

Praise the Lord for the worldwide interest in obtaining BCF materials. Pray for wisdom to know how to ship the materials in an affordable and reliable way for orders outside the USA. Praise the Lord for the interest being shown in conducting intensive courses in Ghana. Pray for wisdom, strength, and encouragement for the members of the administrative staff as they consider preparations for such an endeavor. Praise the Lord that the recent Falam-Chin translation project translating the SelfConfrontation manual and the Biblical Principles for Discipleship/Counseling booklet for the people of Myanmar has begun. This is our newest translation project. Pray for wisdom, strength and encouragement for those working on this project. Praise the Lord for development of the Victory Over Failures Plan booklet. Since it can be utilized as a stand-alone document, it can be very helpful in discipling others independent of the Self-Confrontation manual. Pray that this booklet will be a useful tool to help many to overcome difficult problem areas and have continued victory in their lives. Praise the Lord for many who are visiting the BCF website from other countries. Please pray for translation of the website contents into other languages (Spanish and French initially).
