   Zechariah 9:9 – “Rejoice greatly, O
Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of
Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you,
righteous and having salvation, gentle and
riding a donkey, on a colt, a foal of a
   donkey.”
What I need to understand about the
        Kingdom of God

What does the Bible say about the kingdom?
Is it something we need to get excited about?

I. The Importance of Knowing the Kingdom
II. The Nature of the Kingdom
III. The Arrival of the Kingdom
 Biblical definition of kingdom

Kingdom – (Heb) malkuth; (Gk.) basileia
– primarily means authority, reign, or rule
of a king.
The kingdom of God is the sphere of God‟s rule.
It talk‟s about God‟s “DOMINION” or
“RULE” exercising God‟s authority and power.
“…for dominion belongs to the Lord and he
rules over the nations.” (Ps.22:28)
I. The Importance of the Kingdom

The OT and NT is filled with reference to the
                   kingdom.

  1. Jesus began his ministry proclaiming
  the Kingdom of God. (Mk.1:15)
  2. Jesus did not stay long in one place, He
spread the message of the kingdom.
  (Lk.4:42-43)
                   The importance of the kingdom

3. The message of the kingdom was threefold:

               teaching
              preaching
                healing
                 (Mt.4:23)
                 The importance of the kingdom

4. A true disciple of Jesus must prioritize
his kingdom (Mt.6:33) and also proclaim
it (Lk.9:60).
5. Jesus teaching his disciples about
prayer said (Lk.18:29,30).
                  The importance of the kingdom

6. After his death and resurrection Jesus
appeared to his disciples and taught them
(Acts 1:3).
7. The disciples continued preaching the
message of the kingdom. Philip (Acts 8:12);
Paul (Acts 19:8; 28:31)
Should we get excited about the
          kingdom of God?

Jesus compared the kingdom to “a treasure
hidden in the field” or to “a pearl of great
value” (Mt.13:44-46).
The message of the kingdom of God is very
valuable that you can exchange your whole
life for it! It is your most valuable discovery.
They had to shout ““HOSANNA”! The
kingdom is at hand.”
II. The Nature of the Kingdom
           What then is the kingdom?

There is only one kingdom, but is
mentioned in Scriptures in different ways:
kingdom of heaven, kingdom of God, kingdom
of the Son of man, kingdom of the Son,
kingdom of Jesus, kingdom of Christ Jesus,
kingdom of Christ and God, kingdom of our
  Lord and of his Christ
The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant
             (Mt.18:21-23)

The kingdom is where our unpayable debt
which is our sins and trespasses may be
forgiven.
More importantly it is a place where His
mercy is shown to us and we receive not
only remission of debt and total freedom
from bondage!!
III. The Arrival of the Kingdom
When will the kingdom of God arrive?

Mk.1:14,15 – “After John was put in
  prison, Jesus went into Galilee,
proclaiming the good news of God. “The
time has come,” he said. “The kingdom
of heaven is near. Repent and believe the
  good news!”
                      The Arrival of the Kingdom

Lk.17:20-21 – “Once, having been asked
by the Pharisees when the kingdom of
God would come, Jesus replied, “The
kingdom of God does not come visibly,
nor will people say, „Here it is,‟ or „There it
is,‟ because the kingdom of God is within
you.”
The Kingdom of God is here now…

The Kingdom of God is presently the rule of
God in the hearts of sinners through the Holy
Spirit.
The gifts of the Spirit, anointed proclamation of
the Word, and the confirming signs and wonders
are marks of the Kingdom of God at work now!
The Kingdom of God is here now…

Jesus invaded the kingdom of Satan now!
(Jn.16:11; Col.1:13; 2:15)

Jesus started revealing His kingdom to us!
(Lk.16:16)
…and the Kingdom of God is yet
          to come.
There is a future kingdom which is waiting for
us. “Thy kingdom come…” (Mt.26:29) is future.
Satan‟s final defeat is part of the future events
(Rev.20:10). Complete victory over all evil.
We are in the last days and the next major
prophetic event we are preparing ourselves for is
the RAPTURE – the physical removal of the
church from the earth.
    Meanwhile Jesus said…
Lk.19:16 (KJV) – “And he called his ten
servants, and delivered them the ten pounds,
and said unto them, „Occupy till I come.‟”
occupy - (Gk.) Pragmatcuomai – to busy oneself with

We are to busy ourselves with the business of
           the Kingdom of God!
         The Facts remain
There are still people who have not heard
about the good news of the Kingdom of God.
There are still places that need people who will
witness about the Kingdom of God.
The Lord is looking for US to do the task in
behalf of the Kingdom. The time is near, the
time is short. The King of Kings is coming
very soon.
      Jesus commissioned us
“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach
the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and
is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe
will be condemned. And these signs will accompany
those who believe: In my name they will drive out
demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will
pick up snakes in their hands; and when they drink
deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will
place their hands on sick people, and they will get
well.” (Mark 16:15-18)
         Jesus empowered us
“When he called the Twelve together, he gave them
power and authority to drive out demons and to cure
diseases, and he sent them out to preach the kingdom
of God and to heal the sick. (Lk.9:1,2)
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit
comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in
Jerusalem, and Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of
the earth.” (Acts1:8)
    The KING is
      coming!

“He who testifies to these things says,

 „YES, I AM
  COMING
   SOON.‟
               Amen.

    Come, Lord Jesus.”
          Revelation 22:20
