The annual event recognized bridge players who earned the most points for their bridge expertise during 2006 based on their level of experience. ----TRY TO FEATURE A PLAYER OF INTEREST TO THE MEDIA Included among the winners was Mary Diamond of Memphis, who at 95 still plays at the club three times a week. “Once you play bridge, you’ll never play any other card game. I told my doctor once this is my health food,” Ward said. And Ward provided the proof by winning the game following the ceremony with her partner, Joe Heart of Collierville. ----The 13 award categories are designated by the number of masterpoints members had at the beginning of the year, ranging from the first category of 0-5 masterpoints to the final category of more than 10,000 masterpoints.
