                          with Columbia Women’s Basketball

Goal:
         -   Increase Breast Cancer awareness

Objectives:
       - Utilize Columbia Women’s Basketball game to promote breast cancer
           awareness

Strategies:
        - Increase breast cancer awareness in the Columbia University community
        - Increase breast cancer awareness in the local community

Action Plans:
       - Identify and engage on-campus groups (i.e. Sororities, Fraternities, Colleges
          Against Cancer, Blue Key Society, American Medical Students Association,
          Medical Center) to help promote breast cancer awareness on Columbia
          University and Barnard College campus through mailing lists, flyering, emails
          – Danny Spiegel, Ross Frommer
       - Create and manage activities to increase breast cancer awareness on-campus
          (Greek system wears pink to the contest) – Danny Spiegel
       - Distribute flyers to Columbia University faculty and staff through Division of
          Student Services, January 24, 2008 – Danny Spiegel, Rosemary Keane
       - Create link on website promoting Think Pink, January 28, 2008- Danny
          Spiegel, Todd Kennedy
       - Launch Think Pink ad on Lerner Hall televisions – January 28, 2008 – Danny

       - Create an ad to be inserted in the Spectator, the campus news publication –
          February 12, 2008 – Danny Spiegel, Barry Neuberger, Pete McHugh
       - Utilize special Barnard College (Barnard Night) promotions to increase breast
          cancer awareness – Danny Spiegel, Jen Strawley
       - Launch email to Student-Athletes about Think Pink, February 4 and 10, 2008-

       - Meet with Student Athlete Advisory Committee about supporting Pack the
          House and Think Pink Night, February 8, Danny Spiegel, Juliette Kenny
       - Coordinate cross-promotions with Think Pink and Barnard Night (i.e. table at
          Barnard, pink flyer on-campus, hand out pink ribbons, information
          distribution of Breast Cancer Awareness flyers, email to entire student body,
          Head Women’s Basketball Coach Paul Nixon visit student government
          meeting), February 10, 2008- Danny Spiegel
-   Create pink Columbia Basketball t-shirts for Women’s Basketball team to
    wear Think Pink Shirts at week’s promotional events and warm-ups, February

-   Launch email to all Department of Intercollegiate Athletics staff about Pack

-   Plan a Barnard College pre-game tailgate to encourage students, faculty/staff
    and alumnae to come to the Pack the House and Think Pink Night – February

-   Invite and host Columbia Medical Center – Breast Cancer Program doctors to
    a pre-game reception and have Head Women’s Basketball Coach Paul Nixon

In-Event:

-   Utilize coaches to wear pink attire, February 15 – Coach Paul Nixon
-   Distribute pink Barnard College shirts to first 200 Barnard College students at
    contest, February 15, Danny Spiegel, Barnard College Student Government
-   Distribute pink ribbons to all fans in attendance, February 15 - Danny Spiegel
-   Distribute pink bracelets to all youth groups in attendance, February 15 -

-   Input Think Pink story in game program, February 15 - Todd Kennedy, Pete

-   Work with Dartmouth to participate in Think Pink activities (both teams in
    pink shoe laces and Think Pink shirts for warm-ups), February 15 - Dan

-   Create a ticket promotion with half of all contest-ticket proceeds donated to
    the Herbert Irving Columbia Comprehensive Cancer Center Breast Program,

-   Collect donations for Breast Cancer Research at entrances to Levien

-   Create in-event promotions to promote breast cancer awareness (read breast
    cancer facts at timeouts, acknowledge doctors in pre-game, have spirit groups
    wear pink headbands, throw pink headbands, bracelets and laundry bags to the
    crowd), February 15 – Danny Spiegel
-   Create in-event promotions to recognize Barnard Night (Dr. Judith Shapiro,
    President, Barnard College, as Honorary Coach; announce winner of a
    Barnard College raffle), February 15 – Dan Spiegel
-   Provide MTVU grand prize, dartboard, to fan in most pink, February 15 –
