STAATSVEEARTS (LABORATORIUM)

Alles insluitende vergoedingspakket: R 378 456 per jaar. Hierdie is n buigsame pakket wat n basiese
salaries, 13de tjek, motortoelaag, mediese-bystand- en pensioenfonds bydrae insluit. (Die pakket kan
binne toepaslike reëls, volgens die individu se behoeftes gestruktureer word).

Die formele kwalifikasie vereiste vir hierdie pos is: ‘n B.V.Sc graad (of gelykwaardige kwalifikasie)
met registrasie by die SA Veterinêre Raad. ‘n Geldige kode B bestuurders lisensie.

Aanbevelings: Rekenaargeletterdheid (Microsoft Office en Laboratorium Inligting Bestuur Stelsel
(LIBS))  voldoende toepaslike ondervinding in ‘n veterinêre diagnostiese laboratorium  nagraadse
kwalifikasie in pluimveesiektes of veterinêre serologie / virologie.

Pligte: Voer nadoodse ondersoeke uit en neem van monsters, met die klem op pluimvee 
toesighouding oor personeel wat verantwoordelik is vir die uitvoer van toetse in die serologie en virologie
afdelings van die laboratorium  interpretasie van toets resultate, opstel van laboratorium verslae en
adviseur kliënte ten opsigte van siekte beheer en voorkoming  skakeling met ander laboratorium
personeel, veeartse en kliënte van die laboratorium  gee insette ten opsigte van die bestuur en
operasionele plan van die laboratorium  dra by tot die implimentering en onderhoud van die LIBS en
die Kwaliteit Bestuur Stelsel van die laboratorium  hanteer take ten opsigte van lynfunksie
administrasie en ander administrasie.

STATE VETERINARIAN (LABORATORY)

An all-inclusive remuneration package of R 378 456 per annum. This is a flexible package which
includes a basic salary, 13th cheque, car allowance, medical assistance and pension fund contributions.
(The package can, within applicable rules, be structured according to the individual’s needs).

The formal qualification requirement for this position is: a B.V.Sc. degree (or equivalent
qualification) and registration with the S.A. Veterinary Council. A valid code B driver licence.

Recommendations: Computer literacy (Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Management
System (LIMS))  adequate appropriate experience in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory  post
graduate qualification in poultry diseases or veterinary serology / virology.

Duties: Perform post mortem examinations and collect samples, with the emphasis on poultry 
supervision of staff responsible for the tests performed in the serology and virology sections of the
laboratory  interpretation of test results, compiling laboratory reports and advise clients in respect of
disease control and prevention  liaison with other laboratory staff, veterinarians and clients of the
laboratory  contribute to the implementation and maintenance of the LIMS and the Quality
Management System of the laboratory  give inputs in respect of the management and operational plan
of the laboratory  handle actions relevant to line function administration and other administration.
