The Digestive System T-shirt: An annual classic! (50 pts)

What: Create a t-shirt of the main organs of the digestive system. The digestive system should be on the
front. On the back, you might want to include a quote or saying about Anatomy. Nothing
inappropriate, please. Not everyone (like administrators) like to see the word “poop” all around the
school! You will be graded on anatomical accuracy.
How: Use markers (sharpies work well) or fabric paints. It’s helpful to start with a template (like a drawing
on paper). Draw on a t-shirt that you have purchased (white works best). Your drawing must be an
accurate scale. So, when you wear the shirt, the stomach on the shirt needs to be where your stomach
      on your body is.
Each of the following parts must be in different colors (that means you need to have a
      key):
      Esophagus
Stomach (including cardiac sphincter, fundus, body, greater curvature, lesser curvature, pyloric sphincter)
Small intestine (including ileum, jejunum, duodenum)
Large intestine (including ascending and descending colon)
      Appendix
      Rectum (with anus at end)
Liver (may cover part of the stomach)
      Pancreas
      Gall bladder
Where: Complete at home
When: Due on the day of the test. You must at least bring in the shirt. If you wear it all day long, you will
receive bonus points on the test!
Why: Well, to help you learn it, of course! Plus, it’s fun!
