28 March 2011

Dear Sir/Madam:

The Marine Corps League and the Marine Corps Aviation Association request your support for our 28th Annual 5K
Charity Run/Walk. This year’s run will be held September 17th at Seville Quarter, with 100% of the proceeds
benefiting New Horizons of Northwest Florida, The Miracle League, Westgate Escambia School, Gulf Coast Kids
House, Boys & Girls Club of Escambia and the Independence Fund. Last year’s contributions totaled $13,000. This
year’s goal is to exceed this number.

This much-anticipated event draws nearly 1000 participants and spectators, and over 2000 Marines and other
service-members from bases around the area. Local media covering the event will combine radio and newspaper
advertisements preceding the event as well as providing entertainment on race day.

Support from businesses like yours makes this charitable event a huge success each year. Your tax-deductible
contribution, whatever the amount, will certainly be appreciated by the local charities and organizations mentioned
above. These organizations are all non-profit 501(c) (4) organizations. Sponsorship will be prominently displayed
at the event.

Please see the enclosed brochure for information on the various levels of sponsorship. For further information,
please visit the race website at www.semperficharityrun.org, or contact race Public Affairs Representatives at
childrensrun5K@gmail.com. A message for the representatives can also be taken at (850) 452-9460 ext. 3113.

Thank you for supporting our efforts to help these worthy organizations within our community! Again, if you have
any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

                                                               Very respectfully,

Pete Southerland, USMC Colonel Simon J. Kittler, USMC (Ret.)
