Bosom Buddies
Team Duathlon ++
A Fun Fitness Fundraiser
9 am, Saturday, October 2, 2010
Holcomb Recreation Pool Parking Lot
205 Redford Drive, Holcomb, Kansas

Jennifer White, Holcomb resident and HRC Wellness Center Member, will be participating in the
Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure to raise funds for breast cancer research and community-
based breast health and education programs. Jennifer will be walking 60 miles during the
three-day event in Dallas/Ft. Worth on November 5-7, 2010.

Each walker is required to fundraise at least $2,300 to participate in the event. Jennifer
and the HRC Wellness Center have created the “Bosom Buddies” event. All proceeds from this
event, plus any additional donations, will go directly to the Susan G. Komen Foundation which
is working hard to build a future without breast cancer. One in eight women in the U.S. will
be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. That is why Jennifer is walking….because
everyone deserves a lifetime.

Get your buddy, grab a bike and prepare for some fun fitness challenges by joining us in this
worthy cause! The event will consist of 2 person teams sharing a bicycle. Teams may be
female, male or co-ed. The event will start in the HRC pool parking lot at 9 am. Teams are
encouraged to arrive by 8:30 am to check in and receive additional instructions.

Team members will alternate biking and running/walking for 5 legs of the event. Each bike leg
will be approximately 3 miles. Each run/walk leg will be about 1 mile. Between each leg, a
team “challenge” will take place at the HRC pool park. Example: Buddy #1 will begin on the
bike and Buddy #2 will run/walk. As they complete the first leg, they will get together in
the park to perform their first team challenge. Then Buddy #1 will run/walk while Buddy #2
bikes. Be strategic-- the Buddy who bikes first will bike 3 more miles and the Buddy who
runs/walks will go an extra mile! After the Buddies complete the final #5 leg, Buddies will
perform a final challenge to cross the finish line.

We are requesting a $15/person donation to be a part of this great event. Any and all
additional donations will be gladly accepted! All participants who pre-register by 5 pm on
Friday, September 24, will receive a Bosom Buddies t-shirt. Late registrations will not be
guaranteed a shirt. Additional t-shirts can be ordered and paid for in advance. Shirt sales
on the day of the event are not guaranteed.

If you would like to be involved by just donating or volunteering to help with the event
without actually participating, please contact the HRC Wellness Center.
