   The Annual Student/Teacher Appreciation event was held during May and drew members of the
   community to recognize one Teacher and Student of the Year from Christian Home and Bible School
   and a Teacher of the Year and Rookie Teacher of the Year from the Mount Dora Public Schools.
   The Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club of Mount Dora and the Council of 50 at
   their May 12th breakfast recognized the teachers and students from Christian Home and Bible School
   and Mount Dora Public Schools with an award certificate and gift card from Walmart and Lakeside

                                                              The open pasture was speckled with peacefully grazing
                                                             red headed bovine, (that would be my cows). As I lay
                                                             admiring the view and taking it all in, I realized at that
                                                             moment how blessed I am. What a wonderful sight to
                                                             behold and to be apart of. Just at that instant I felt a
                                                             bump and remembered my Hannah was still standing
                                                             under me.
                                                                 Now Hannaniah is the reason for this story. I never

                                                             remarkable and the experience so amazing I had to write

    The Rotary Club of Mount Dora, a non-profit
    organization, will present the 17th Annual ‘Old
    Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration’ on Saturday,
    July 4th from 5- 9PM.

    The “It’s a Grand Ole Flag” Independence Day Parade
    kicks off the festivities at 10 AM in downtown Mount
    Dora with Grand Marshall Barb Simon from Heart Beat
    Radio for Women. The parade starts on Donnelly Street
    and marches into Gilbert Park, located at 310 South
    Tremain at the corner of Liberty Street.
    At 5 PM cold drinks, hot dogs, ice cream and more will
    be on sale in the newly renovated Gilbert Park. Come on
    down and identify your special place for watching the
    fireworks while enjoying a grilled hot dog with all the

    The festivities conclude at 9 PM when a grand fireworks
    finale light up the sky over Lake Dora presented by the
    City of Mount Dora and the Mount Dora Rotary Club.
