New Braunfels ISD offers Summer Feeding Program
Through the assistance of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food & Nutrition Service, the New Braunfels ISD school nutrition department will be offering free nutritious meals at breakfast and lunch at Seele Elementary, New Braunfels Middle School, and New Braunfels High School this summer for all children ages 18 and under. “A child does not have to be eligible for the free or reduced-price school lunch program to be allowed to eat with us this summer. To participate, a student just needs to show up at Seele, NBMS, or NBHS,” said NBISD school nutrition director Crystal Byrom. “During the summer months, families are faced with many monetary strains, so we don’t want children to go without nutritious meals during this time.” Meals will be served June 8, 2009 through July 2, 2009. Breakfast will be open from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. All meals meet federal nutrition standards.
