The Palmer Post stakes its foundation on God’s Law and our Republic. The Palmer Post
exists solely to establish and maintain the foundations of a free press and to allow for the
free exchange of ideas without fear of retaliation, intimidation or unlawful governmental
activities. We advocate a pro-life, pro-liberty and pro-property rights mantra. Our agenda
is that of the truth, defending liberty and keeping local government accountable and
responsible. The Palmer Post makes no apologies for its stand against tyranny, and we will
not compromise our Mission in exchange for the “wages of a dog.”

Prepare Palmer: Starting a Crisis Garden

PALMER---What if the highways got locked down for three days? What if we
have a swine/flu quarantine? What would you grow to prepare for a possible crisis?
I personally would start by growing, cherry tomatoes, parsley, cilantro, spinach,
okra, and peppers. All of these edibles grow fast and can be harvested nearly
everyday for consumption.
These plants love Texas weather and are really good for you! The more greens
the better and if you prepare early enough plant some potatoes, watermelons,
cantaloupe and squash. Remember your greens, a small bunch of parsley can
keep you alive and feeling really great. If times get really tough, learning about wild
edibles is a great idea. Clover can be eaten as well as dandelion. I have noticed al-
most anything that has a weed killer at Wal-mart to kill it, can be eaten and is good
for you. Remember if you have used synthetic chemicals on your lawn within the
last two years it is not safe to forage from your yard. Some people think it sounds
crazy to talk about such possibilities as food shortages, but remember, luck favors
the prepared. Facebook.com/BrandyLemmonOwen
