0 Release Date: June 22, 2007 Release Number: 07-490, CT 10873 DISASTER NEWS Loans for Homeowners, Renters and Businesses of all Sizes Contact: Michael Lampton Phone: 404-347-3771 SBA Disaster Assistance – Field Operations Center- East - One Baltimore Place, Suite 300 - Atlanta, GA 30308 _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ _________ PRIVATE NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS HAVE LESS THAN THREE WEEKS TO APPLY FOR SBA DISASTER ASSISTANCE HARTFORD, Conn. - The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) reminds Private Non-Profit organizations (PNPs) that do not provide critical services of a governmental nature that the filing deadline for SBA low interest rate disaster loans is July 10, 2007. These loans are available as a result of President Bush’s Disaster Declaration for Public Assistance resulting from damages caused by severe storms and flooding April 15 - 27, 2007. PNPs located in the counties of Fairfield and Litchfield in the State of Connecticut are eligible to apply to SBA. Examples of eligible non-critical PNP organizations include, but are not limited to, food kitchens, homeless shelters, museums, libraries, community centers, schools and colleges. Eligible private non-profit organizations may qualify for loans up to $1.5 million. These loans are for permanent repair and/or replacement work. Loan amounts and terms are set by SBA and are based upon each applicant’s financial condition. The deadline to apply for these loans is July 10, 2007.
