Dear Colleague(s),

Community Based Teaching - Academic Year 2010-11

I am writing to let you know about undergraduate teaching opportunities for the next academic
year, and to ask for expressions of interest in courses which you may wish to continue or start
teaching from September 2010. Teaching in general practice is a central and popular part of the
medical curriculum your contribution is very much needed and appreciated.

Please let us know using the attached reply form:
   1) Whether your practice would like to continue teaching subjects which you may be currently
providing in the next academic year?
   2) Whether you would be interested in becoming involved in any new teaching for 2010-11?

“Teaching Opportunities for GPs” booklet can be viewed or downloaded online for further details of
all courses available in the UCL Medical School at:
http://www.ucl.ac.uk/pcph/education/undergrad/cbt/index.htm

The booklet outlines all available programmes in terms of content, time commitment and
payments. Training will be provided for any new practices or existing practices opting to teach new
subjects. Information on teaching 4th and 5th year Core GP attachments and 1st and 2nd year Community
Orientated Medicine placements are sent out separately. Please contact the relevant administrator if you are
interested in these subjects. Their names and contact details are provided in the teaching opportunities
booklet.

The attached form therefore concerns specialty teaching in general practice in years 3 and 4 of
the curriculum (i.e. general medicine, elderly medicine, women’s health, child health, mental health
& dermatology).

If you have any teaching related queries please make initial contact via our Education Coordinator,
Ms Rushmi Pelpola ( r.pelpola@ucl.ac.uk  020 7472 6449). More information about all our
courses i.e. dates & tutors guides are available on our website listed above.

In order to plan teaching schedules in good time and provide training we would like to hear from
you as soon as possible using the form below.

Many thanks for all your help and support.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Joe Rosenthal
