Hammerglass Insulate IR                                                Hammerglass Insulate IR (Infra Red)
                                                                       Hammerglass Insulate IR is an unbreakable insulation
                                                                       glass, with a heat reducing Hammerglass pane for the
                                                                       outer pane. The options for the inner pane are regular
                                                                       glass, toughened glass and energy glass among others. If
                                                                       an unbreakable 3-glass pane is preferred we recommend
                                                                       an acrylic pane for the middle pane. This will ensure that
                                                                       the middle pane won’t shatter in case of an attempt at a
                                                                       break-in.

                                                                       Hammerglass protects against hard and sharp blows and
                                                                       is used in buildings that often experience problems with
                                                                       vandalism of glass, such as schools, public areas, office
                                                                       buildings and stores and also in private homes. Hammer-
                                                                       glass provides a complete protection from vandalism and
                                                                       break-ins.

                                                                       GBecause the IR-pane absorbs the sun’s heat (the infra
                                                                       red beams) the need of solar protection and air conditio-
                                                                       ning is reduced. With energy glass for the inner pane a
                                                                       U-value of 0.8 and a solar energy reduction of approx 43%
                                                                       is achieved by 3-glass cassette.
Product description
Hammerglass Insulate IR is available in 3 main versions:
- 2-glass insulate with the glass type of the inner pane and the space between the two panes being optional.
-3-glass insulate with optional inner- and middle panes. Toughened glass in the middle, in order to avoid shattered
glass in case of a forceful attack on the outer pane.
-3-glass insulate with a traditionally insulated cassette for the two inner panes then an aluminium spacer.

Hammerglass Insulate IR has a unique coating as standard, which gives the glass a high level of UV-durability and
chemical resistance. This facilitates the removal of graffiti without causing damage to the glass.

Operating Characteristics
Hammerglass Insulate has been tested by the Swedish SBSC (the Swedish Fire Protection Association and the Swe-
dish Theft Prevention Association) and approved to security class P8B when using a configuration of laminated glass
internally (protection level 3 – the same as windows with bars). Without laminated glass protection level 2 is achieved
with 6mm Hammerglass as the outer pane.

Guidance when planning a project
The unique characteristics of Hammerglass Insulate IR, except for the already mentioned resistance to vandalism
and level of protection in case of break-ins, is its high level of sound reduction, low U-value, solar protection effect
as well as its low level of light reflection (no mirror effect).
