• At 8:45am, a passenger
  plane crashed into the north
  tower of the WTC in NYC
• At 9:00am, a second plane
  crashed into the south tower.
• At 9:40am, a third plane
  crashed into the Pentagon
• A fourth plane crashed,
  probably on its way to the
  White House or Capital
 Death Toll
• 266 passengers were
  killed.
• 300 police, firefighters,
  and paramedics were
  killed.
• 2,500 civilians were
  killed in the attack
• Mayor Rudy Giuliani led
  the relief effort in NYC
 Aftermath
• Extremist Osama bin Laden
  took credit for the attacks.
• The US quickly sent troops to
  Afghanistan to find bin
  Laden.
• The US also invaded Iraq
  since they felt there was a
  connection.

• Bin Laden was killed May 1,
  2011, by a US led operation
  in Pakistan.
