Colton Brauning St. Ignatius School My name is Colton Brauning and I live in the neighborhood that Aubrey lived in while she was a baby. As I would walk outside of my house to play, I would see a smiling baby girl in a stroller with her mom and dad walking proudly behind her. I could tell that her parents loved her very much because they were enjoying every moment they had with Aubrey. I always noticed her bright smile and a tube in her nose. I wondered why she needed the tube in her nose. I asked my mother and she told me all about Aubrey and her condition. I felt sad that such a little girl had so many health problems. Aubrey looked so happy every time I saw her. It seemed like she was happy to be alive and to be loved by her family. If every person in the world could be that happy to be alive and to be loved, the world would be a more peaceful place to live. I recall when my family sat down and talked about Aubrey’s complications. My mom then explained to me that Aubrey had passed away. We prayed for Aubrey and her family. I remember going to my room and reaching into my piggy bank for a dollar to donate to the foundation. Although Aubrey’s life was short, she made a huge impact on my life. I will always remember her beautiful smile in my heart. I believe that I have made an important impact on others because I am a very nice and considerate person. I am also smart and thoughtful toward my family and my friends. Family morals are very important to me because my mom, dad, and brothers are the people I love the most. People think of me as a great person to be around because I am a leader and a good example of my faith in God. I am very polite and I act like a gentleman toward other people. I have made a positive impact on my family and my friend’s lives by using all of my blessings in my every day life. I use my blessings very well because I study hard in school to get good grades. I am also very athletic and I use these talents while participating in sports. I have made a positive memory in every person’s mind because of my actions, just like Aubrey left a positive memory for me with her smile. I will continue to be the best person I can be in high school and all the years of my life.
