E0 = E0red (reduction process) - E0red (oxidation process) Thus, E0 will be positive for the case where the reaction is spontaneous E0 will be zero for a redox reaction at equilibrium E0 will be negative for the case where the reaction is spontaneous in the reverse direction E0 = 0 V - 0.34 = -0.34V Since this value is negative, this redox reaction is not spontaneous as written. E0 = -0.339 + 0.769 = +0.43 V. Since E is positive, the reaction is spontaneous.
