					Present Continuous
We use the Present Continuous (Progressive) tense when talking about actions that are happening at the moment (present or temporary activity) or which will be done in the future (future arrangement). Singular I am You are He/she/it is Plural We are You are They are

+ the "-ing" form of the verb (Present participle) try + ing = trying go +ing = going The following are exceptions when sometimes the Present Participle is irregular. 1. doubled letter In these examples we can see that one of the letters is doubled.
  

swim + ing = swimming run + ing = running get + ing = getting

2. "e" removed
 

write + ing = writing move + ing = moving

Use of Present Continuous 1. Present or temporary activities 2. Future (personal) arrangements. Example
What are you cooking? Tom is studying for his exams at the moment. It isn't raining now. We can go outside. What are you doing this weekend? I'm meeting Peter tomorrow morning. We're driving to Albany this weekend. We're currently working on the Smith account. What classes are you taking this semester? We're studying Greek history this month. Usage Actions happening at the present moment.

Planned future events (usually in the near future)

Actions or events happening around the present moment.

Note: The present continuous (progressive) is used only with action verbs. Action verbs are those which are
used to show when somebody does something. Also Action verbs can also be actions you can't see like thought or ponder. Example: I am working at the moment NOT I am believing you. Positive sentences: Subject + I/a etc. Auxiliary(Helping) verb + is/are Verb + ing going/taking

In the positive form, follow the form S To be Verb -ing. Remember that you need to conjugate the auxiliary verb 'to be'. I am (I'm) You are (You're) He, She, It is (He's, She's, It's) We, You, They are (We're, You're, They're)

Conjugate the helping verb 'To Be' Not Verb - ing to form negatives. I am not (I'm not) You are not (You aren't) He, She, It is not (He, She, It isn't We, You, They are not (We, You, They aren't)
