					  RESEARCH ISSUES IN FACEBOOK
     USAGE: A BIBLIOMETRIC
           ANALYSIS

                                     ABSTRACT

As the most popular social network site, facebook have more than 500 million active
users worldwide and people spend over 700 billion minutes per month on it in 2011.
Academics as well as practice have pay attention to this sparking website. The current
study presented a literature review on facebook research and classification for related
research issues. The literature review consisted of 376 articles that were listed in
Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and Social Citation Index (SSCI) in a period
between 2007 and April 2011. The results revealed that in the past four years scholars
had conducted an increasing amount of facebook research for a diverse range of
research topics. The current study used text mining technique to analysis the abstracts
of these literature to explore the knowledge structure behine these facebook studies.
The study also adopted content analysis to explore the research issues and classified
the facebook research into several categories. The literature review might serve as a
supplement source for scholars who are interested in conducting facebook research
and is useful in formulating future research.
