The flexible and open systems allows the user to perform high-quality transfections using optimized or user-designed protocols in three simples steps with as little as 2 x 104 cells per reaction. Unlike standard cuvette-based electroporation chambers, the Neon™ system uses a patented biologically compatible pipette tip chamber that generates a more uniform electric field. This design allows a better maintenance of physiological conditions resulting in very high cell survival compared to conventional electroporation. The transfection occurs in the Neon™ Pipette tip. . The Neon™ Transfection technology was designed for highly efficient gene delivery and ease of use. With one ‘fail-safe’ optimization experiment, you can maximize delivery efficiency and minimize toxicity in any cell type. The transfection protocol is a simple 3-step protocol; mix cells and plasmid or siRNA into the Neon™ Pipette tip, plug into the pipette holder, and press start. Then transfer the transfected cells directly into your culture vessel. The Neon™ cell database offers tested protocols for a variety of cell lines or use the 24-well optimization protocol as a starting point for a new cell type. .
