           ORGANIZATIONS AND HERITAGE

 Art. 1. DEPARTMENT                  The course is set up by the Department of Economics of the University of Ferrara and based
         PLACE                       at the Department of Economics, Institutions and Territory.
         DIRECTOR                    The course is organized in cooperation with the Associazione Nazionale Musei Locali e
                                     Istituzionali (ANMLI) and with ENCATC (European Network of Cultural Administration
                                     Training Centers).
                                     The course is co-directed by Prof. Fabio DONATO and Prof. Anna Maria VISSER.
Art. 2. COURSE DURATION                   The course duration is 750 hours:
                                          210 hours teaching (lectures)
                                          540 individual learning

Art. 4. COURSE OBJECTIVES AND             COURSE OBJECTIVES:
       PROFESSIONAL SKILLS                The course aims at offering useful skills for the management of cultural organisations and heritage.
                                     Furthermore the course aims at promoting the exchange of experiences and professional competence
                                     among students coming from different countries. Providing students with specific knowledge and skills
                                     directed towards the development and improvement of cultural services and activities, the course adopts
                                     innovative teaching methodologies in an international perspective. The various taught courses are
                                     organized paying particular attention to methods of knowledge transfer, to contents and to
                                     experimentation, with a methodological approach and an organizational impact that intertwine theory
                                     and practice, also analyzing case-studies through site-visits, in collaboration with important national
                                     cultural institutions and organisations
                                          PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
                                          The course addresses an international audience of under and post-graduates who are already
                                     working for cultural organizations, and who want to complete their education in the field of
                                     management of cultural organisations and heritage. The course provides them with skills that could be
                                     used to enhance their career within an international framework.

Art. 5. SCHEDULE OF THE COURSE           The course will start on May 16th, 2011, at 2.30 p.m at the Department of Economics,
                                     Via Voltapaletto,11 – FERRARA.
                                         SCHEDULE
                                         I° period – from May, 16th to June, 1st, 2011
                                         II° period - from June, 16th to July, 1st, 2011
                                         Lectures will take place from Monday to Friday.
                                         Throughout the course we will analyze specific cases of cultural institutions, like
                                     Venice, Verona, Ferrara, Parma, Florence with on-site activities.
Art. 6. REQUIREMENTS                     Attendance to the lessons is compulsory. A minimum 80% attendance is required.

                                   There will be a final examination consisting of a discussion about a professional or
                               research activity done by the student during the course; this examination will take place on
                               July 2nd, 2011. The results of the test will be published on September, 5th, 2011 on the
                               webpage of the course. From July, 2nd to September, 5th the Commission may ask to the
                               candidates an integration of their works. The results of the final evaluation will be made
                               public only after September, 5th, 2011.

                                   Students who will not pass the final examination will not get the course certification.

                                  - Equivalent qualifications, as required by the law
                                  Application for selection is open also to the owners of a foreign qualification recognized as
                                  equivalent by an Italian academic authority. According to the Ministerial orders for
                                  admission of foreign students in Italy, candidates owning a foreign diploma (in the
                                  following areas: economics, management, law, humanities, social sciences, science,
                                  architecture-design), not recognized by an Italian academic authority, should present also a
                                  certified official translation in Italian, and the “Dichiarazione di valore in loco” (statement
                                  of compatibility evaluation). The Italian Consulate/Embassy of the country in which the
                                  qualification was issued will provide applicants with all these documents. In this case the
                                  Consiglio Didattico (Board of the Course) will evaluate the academic qualification only
                                  for the purposes of the course.

                                   The Board of the course may admit candidates with an academic qualification in a
                              different area.

                              The Rector of the University can, at any moment, rule on the exclusion of the student due to
                              the lack of the above mentioned requirements.

Art. 9. RULES FOR FOREIGN     -    Students coming from a foreign EU country or from a non EU country having a permit
        STUDENTS/// FOREIGN        of stay released for the following reasons are admitted to the course under the same
        STUDENTS ADMISSION         conditions as Italian citizens:
                              work, family, humanitarian asylum, religious reasons as well as foreigners, wherever
                              residents, holders of diplomas from Italian schools abroad or foreign or international schools,
                              working in Italy or abroad, subject to bilateral agreements or special regulations for the
                              recognition of qualifications and fulfilling   the   general requirements for admission      to
                              studies (Article 26 of Law July 30, 2002, n. 189).
                              - as equivalent to EU candidates the citizens of Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein,
                                  Switzerland and the Republic of San Marino.
                                  - If the candidate is in possession of dual nationality, one of them being Italian, the
                                  latter prevails (Law 31.5.1995, n. 218, art.parag.2 19).
                                  CANDIDATES COMING FROM A NON E.U. COUNTRY (Non residents in Italy): see art.
                                  14 (students coming from a non EU country)
Art. 10. MAXIMUM NUMBER OF              A maximum number of 28 student can be admitted to the course, including 3 seats
       STUDENTS                   reserved for students coming from a non EU country
Art. 11. MINIMUM NUMBER OF              Please note that a minimum number of 15 student is required for the course to be
         STUDENTS - WITHDRAWAL    delivered. If the minimum number is not achieved, the course will be withdrawn.
                                        In that case, a notice will be put on the website www.unife.it as soon as possible.

 Art. 12. ADMISSION               Applicants will be admitted on the basis of the following selection criteria:
                                          - final grade of the degree
                                          - work experience (professional, educational and research) in the cultural field,
                                  especially international.
                                  The seats will be awarded according to the list resulting from the selection.
                                  In case of equality preference will be given to younger applicants.
                                  In case that the number of application forms is less than the maximum number of available
                                  seats, all candidates should proceed directly to the enrollment within April, 4th, 2011,
                                  following the instructions described in art. 13. It will be also possible to apply directly
                                  until the maximum number of seats in this call is reached.

Art. 13. ADMISSION TO SELECTION        Candidates must apply for the selection on-line at the webpage http://studiare.unife.it ,
                                  within April, 4th, 2011, following the instructions available at the webpage
                                  http://www.unife.it/formazione-postlaurea/master-perfezionamento-
                                  formazione/informazioni-studenti/faq%20studenti-en?set_language=en
                                       After entering their personal data on-line, applicants must print, sign and deliver their
                                  application form to Ufficio Alta Formazione ed Esami di Stato, within April, 4th,2011,
                                  without exceptions, together with the following documents:
                                                     1. Copy of a valid identity document
                                                     2. Self certification statement (pursuant to art. 46 del DPR n. 445 del
                                                          28/12/2000) on the qualification required showing the final
                                                          grade and work experience (or original certificates)
                                                     3. Payment receipt of stamp duty amounting to € 14.62. This
                                                          payment can be made:
                                                          - On-line by credit card (VISA or MASTERCARD) also not student's
                                                          property;
                                                          -By bank transfer to bank
                                                          account payable to UNIVERSITY OFFERRARA Cod IBAN IT31C0
                                                          200813030000002985272, indicating the reason of the payment,
                                                          the name of the student and the course - -
                                                          From any agency Unicredit Banca by the strip that will available to
                                                          printing after the end of the filling on the application form online.

                                       Applicants having a foreign degree must attach also a copy of their degree, together
                                       with a translation in Italian, which has been legalised by Italian authorities, and by the
                                       “Dichiarazione di valore in loco” (statement of compatibility evaluation) issued by the
                                       Italian Embassy/consulate of the State in which the degree was obtained.
                                       The non E.U. students, living in Italy, must attach the residence permit.

                                   The application form can be delivered:
                                      o    Directly to the Office (Ufficio Alta Formazione ed Esami di Stato – Via Scienze,
                                           41/b – Ferrara)open on Monday, Wednsday, Friday from 9.00 to 11.30 a.m. and
                                           on Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m.
                                      o    Via mail to the following address:

                                           Please note that the documents must be delivered by April, 4 th, 2011

                                      In case of delivery via fax, the application form must be anyway delivered to the
                                      Office(Ufficio Alta Formazione ed Esami di Stato), to check the payment of the fees
                                       as provided, within the next 10 days.

                                       PLEASE NOTE: no application forms for the selection will be accepted other
                                       than the ones on line, and the application forms must be delivered to the office on
                                       time, duly signed, with the stamp and the necessary attachments.
Art. 14. ENROLLMENT FOR STUDENTS
         COMING FROM A NON E.U.      1) APPLYING FOR SELECTION
        COUNTRY                      Candidates coming from a non E.U country, living abroad, must go to the to the Italian
                                   Embassy/Consulate of the country of residence with the Diploma and the application form
                                   printed after entering all the data online at the webpage http://studiare.unife.it, ( Please follow
                                   the instructions given at the web page http://www.unife.it/formazione-postlaurea/master-
                                   perfezionamento-formazione/informazioni-studenti/faq%20students)
                                   The Embassy/Consulate will send to the University of Ferrara, by April, 4th, 2011, the
                                   application form, the copy of the passport and the copy of the Diploma accompanied by an
                                   official translation in Italian, which has been legalised, and by the “Dichiarazione di valore in
                                   loco” (statement of compatibility evaluation).

                                   Please note that the University cannot accept application forms coming directly from
                                   the students.

                                    2) APPLYING FOR ENROLLMENT

                                     The students coming from a non E.U country living abroad, who, according to the list, will
                                   be admitted, must go to the Italian Embassy/Consulate of the country of residence with the
                                   application form for enrollment. The application form must be printed after entering all the
                                   data in the webpage http://studiare.unife.it, ( Please follow the instructions given at the web
                                   page                      http://www.unife.it/formazione-postlaurea/master-perfezionamento-
                                   formazione/informazioni-studenti/faq%20students)
                                     The Italian Embassy/Consulate will send to the University of Ferrara by April, 27 th, 2011,
                                   the application for enrollment together with the original Diploma translated, legalized and
                                   with the statement of compatibility evaluation (Dichiarazione di valore in loco)

                                    Please note that the University of Ferrara cannot accept application forms coming
                                   directly from the students.

                                   After their arrival in Italy, students must complete their registration by paying the tuition
                                   fee and delivering a copy of their permit to the above mentioned office.

Art. 15. LIST FOR ADMISSION             By April, 18th, 2011, the official list for admission will be available online
                                   (http://studiare.unife.it); please note that you must log in following the same
                                   procedures used when you applied for the selection.
                                        This list will be the only official way of advertising the results of the selection
                                   procedure; candidates will not receive any further written communication.

Art. 16. ENROLLMENT                 By April, 27th, 2011, candidates who will have been admitted according to the list for
                                   admission, must enroll online at http://studiare.unife.it, (Please follow the instructions given
                                   at the web page http://www.unife.it/formazione-postlaurea/master-perfezionamento-
                                   formazione/informazioni-studenti/faq%20students)
                                     After entering their personal data, students must print, sign and deliver their application
                                     form to the University of Ferrara by April, 27th, 2011, together with:
                                           Copy of a valid identity document
                                           Passport-size picture
                                           Receipt of payment of the tuition fee (see art. 19- TUITION FEE)

                                   Candidates with a foreign degree must attach also their Diploma accompanied by an official
                                   legalized translation in Italian, and by the “Dichiarazione di valore in loco” (statement of
                                   compatibility evaluation). Students must request the above mentioned documents to the
                                   Italian Embassy/Consulate of the country in which the Diploma was issued; the
                                   Embassy/Consulate will provide them with the required documents.
                                   The non E.U. citizens residing in Italy must attach to the application form also a copy of their
                                   residence permit.
                                    The application form must be delivered:

                              Those who have not completed the enrollment procedure, by sending the
                              documents through the Italian Embassy/Consulate by this deadline, will be
                              considered WITHDRAWN and their seats will be awarded to the following
                              candidates of the waiting list.
Art. 17. VACANT SEATS         According to the withdrawal policy, vacant seats will be made available for the candidates of
                              the waiting list (see art. 11).
                              No written communication will be sent to the applicants.
                              The list of available seats will be published online at http://studiare.unife.it
                              To apply for a vacant seat, students must fulfill the procedure they will find on the webpage
                              http://studiare.unife.it by May, 2nd, 2011, following the instructions as stated above (see art.
                              16). The application form accompanied by the attachments, must be delivered to the Office
                              within the same day.
Art. 18. SELF-CERTIFICATION        In case false statements are detected in the self-certification statement, the registrant shall
    STATEMENT                 incur the penalties provided in the Criminal Code and the legislation, and will lose
                              the benefits may be achieved with the admission to the course.
Art. 19. TUITION FEE          Registration for the course implies the payment of tuition fee for a total amount of € 3.500,00
                              (including taxes and insurance contribution) to be paid in two instalments:
                                             1. First instalment:       € 2.400,00 at registration.
                                                 (including taxes and insurance contribution)
                                             2. Second instalment: € 1.100,00 to be paid within June, 15th 2011
                                                  (including taxes and Diploma contribution)

                                   In case the tuition fee is not paid by the student but by a different person, or by a third
                              party (employer/firm/company/association, etc…), the tuition fee must be paid within the
                              deadline by bank transfer to the bank account of the UNIVERSITY OF FERRARA - IBAN
                              Code IT31C0200813030000002985272, indicating the reason of the payment, the name of
                              the student and the name of the course. Copy of the receipt of payment should be attached to
                              the application form.
                                   If the tuition fee is not paid, the enrollment won’t be completed in any case. The course
                              is part of the institutional activity of the University of Ferrara, therefore is scope of VAT and
                              invoice cannot be released.
                                        The voluntary renunciation or abandonment of attendance of a course does not
                              entitle to the refund of the registration fee.
                                   In case the course will be cancelled (for lack of the minimum number of students), the
                              University will refund the paid contribution (excluding stamp duty due on the application
                              form - equivalent to € 14,62) .
Art. 20. TERMS OF PAYMENT          Students can pay the tuition fees using the following methods:

                              1. ON-LINE using a credit card belonging to the VISA or MASTERCARD circuit;
                              2. Payment at any Unicredit Banca agency in Italy, using the strip you’ll be able to print after
                              enrollment to the course from the website http://studiare.unife.it

                              The receipt of the payment will be the only proof of payment.

Art. 21. SIMULTANEOUS             The course is compatible with other university courses. Students are responsible for
    ENROLLMENT               verifying whether the enrollment to the course is in conflict with his/her enrollment in
                             another course.
Art. 22. DIPLOMA             At the end of the course, after passing the final examination, students will receive the
                             Diploma of the post-graduate course.
Art. 23. AKNOWLEDGEMENT OF   Those who achieve the post-graduate certification of the course in “Economics and
       QUALIFICATIONS        Management of Cultural and Heritage Organisations "and the certification of the course in
                             “Economics and Management of Museums and Cultural                Services",     can apply for
                             the Master Degree Diploma in "Cultural management "(website: www.mcm-unife.it). In this
                             case the payment of a tuition fee of €100.00 (including stamp duty and fees) is required.
