Contest
Creator of winning music video, selected via public vote, to receive VIP concert trip for two to Lollapalooza

DENVER--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Archstone, a leader in apartment investment and operations,
announced today the launch of the Archstone Music Fest Original Song Contest in association with award-winning
singer and song writer Ryan Star. The contest challenges apartment seekers and residents to post an original music
video on YouTube for a chance to win a VIP concert trip for two to the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago
valued at about $3,685.

The music video that receives the most like votes, which is the number of YouTube viewers who click on the thumbs
up icon, between midnight on June 1 and 6 p.m. on July 1 wins. The creators of the winning music video will receive
two VIP tickets to Lollapalooza, airfare from the nearest major airport to Chicago, a three-night stay at the James
Hotel in downtown Chicago and a selection of Lollapalooza T-shirts and posters.

“I have always played music for the joy I get when people are listening,” said Star, whose newest album 11:59 was
released in August 2010. “I hope those who participate will experience the same joy I have appreciated since I
began performing in front of audiences as a young child. I’m looking forward to enjoying the creativity and passion I
know will be poured into many of the videos.” 

The VIP tickets to Lollapalooza, which is being held August 5-7 at Grant Park in Chicago, also include a host of
concert perks, such as viewing platforms of the main stages with premium sightlines, wine and specialty libations all
day, catered food servings daily, access to VIP golf cart shuttles, mini-spa treatments from The Elysian Spa &
Health Club and more.

To enter the online video contest, customers will upload an original music video with original lyrics and music to
YouTube between June 1 and June 26. Videos could showcase an original song worthy of a future recording
contract, a humorous ballad about life in the city or even a rap about their Archstone experience.

As part of the Archstone Music Fest Leasing Expo, which will run from June 20 through 26, the contest is open to
all residents and apartment seekers living at or near its apartments for rent nationwide. (See official contest rules for

But Archstone Music Fest Original Song Contest entrants won’t be the only customers receiving the chance to win a
VIP concert trip for two to Lollapalooza in Chicago. Customers who visit any Archstone apartment community
nationwide between June 20 and 26 will be able to enter the Archstone Music Fest Leasing Expo Sweepstakes.

drawing and announced on the Archstone Views blog on July 5.

Archstone is also giving away 10,000 free downloads of Ryan Star’s hit single “Brand New Day,” which is the
theme song for the popular Fox TV series “Lie to Me,” to apartment seekers who visit its communities during the
leasing expo.
