What are the best disposal options for CCA-treated wood? What is the best way to recover CCA-treated wood after it has been taken out of service? What should be done with it? Should it be treated as a special waste stream? Should CCA-treated wood be disposed in an unlined C&D landfill or a lined class I landfill? What are the characteristics of the liquid, solid and gaseous emissions from burning CCA-treated wood? What are the impacts of putting CCA-treated wood into lined and/or unlined landfills? 3. Recently, there have been a few cases (in Orlando and Hawthorne) where homes were built on top of old landfill sites with damaging results. How much of the closed landfill should remain undeveloped (i.e. only on top of the closed cells)? 10. How effective are biocover systems that convert methane into CO2? What are the economics of utilizing a biocover system? 11. What are the long-term options for leachate disposal? What will the solid waste community do with leachate 50 years from now?
