Re: Rent Arrears Dear "[Tenant's Name]" I wrote to you on the "[Date]" to advise you that your rent was in arrears and that a total amount of "[Amount]" was payable. I attach a copy of this letter for your information. In this letter, I requested that you made full payment of the amount outstanding within the next 7 days. Since this time, you have only paid off a limited amount of the arrears/you have not paid off any of the arrears"[Delete as required]" . As a result, the rent outstanding for the above property (of which you are the named tenant for) is as follows: Date Due Amount Due Amount Paid Total Amount Due

"[Landlord Note: If AST (fixed term) you can only commence proceedings [Section 8 Notice] when the rent is 2 Months in arrears - so issue this letter 6/7 weeks]"

If you do not make arrangements to make full payment within the next 7 Days, I will have no option but instigate proceedings in order to regain possession of the property and recover all outstanding arrears (along with any other costs/fees which may be applicable). To avoid this, can you please make immediate arrangements to pay the total amount due. Can you please contact me immediately to advise me of the date to expect payment. If you have any queries on the above, then please contact me on the above number.

Yours sincerely;
