My goal is to help small business owners, from curiosity and exploration in the field of social media with results and value. As part of this series I'll cover Facebook, but stay tuned for parts two, three and four on Twitter, LinkedIn, and blogs. Facebook Why For a small business, there are few excuses for not having a Facebook page. Over 500 million people have joined Facebook and 250,000 every day. Aid for small business brand awareness. Facebook can provide your company with a real-time feedback. This is the fastest way to communicate with clients at a time. You can track the effectiveness of its efforts on Facebook. And it is free to create a fan page. As for Beginners (skip this section if your company already has Facebook Fan Page) If you're not on Facebook, you must first create a personal profile. Can you do this by going to Facebook and fill out your name, email, password, gender, birthday and all the other necessary details. It is good to add a picture too, so people log in and "add you as a friend." Once you've created your profile, you can create a page for your company calls a fan page. You can do this by clicking "Ads and Pages" located on the left side of the Facebook page of Interior. Then click on "Create a page +". This prompts you to create a "Community Page" or "Official". If you're a small business owner, please click on "Local Business" button "Official" section and enter your name the company where it says "Page name". Check the box that says you're the official representative of the page and click on "Create Page formal." Finally, make sure it is the official website click on "Create Profile" and then, within five minutes you've created a Facebook page for your business. Then click on "Info" tab at the top of the screen and click on "change". This will prompt you for your business "basic information", "Details" and "coordinated". When you have finished filling out this information, click the box to the left that says "Write something about (your company)." This section provides a good, brief description of your business and provide a link to your website and all other relevant sites (blog, twitter, etc..) If you want to change what you wrote, click on the pencil in the upper right corner. So I recommend that shows a state of change. phased over several days, and provides useful information such as easy access to relevant articles. Also add photos to your company, products, services and equipment. It aims to make before reaching the people to "suffer" your page is so that people get an idea of what kind of content you want on the page. If you have a Facebook page relatively pristine, people can not click on the "like" when they are invited to join. Fill your Facebook page fan, follow these steps, as required by Facebook. Add your logo to your profile, click "Send Picture" and then "Browse". Finally, you can invite your Facebook friends to "suffer" your page by clicking the button that says "think of friends" in the upper left of your page under the logo. And there you have it. If you have completed these steps, you have a page with a good solid amount of people who "like" the page. How to grow your reach for Intermediate / advanced users Facebook For business owners who have created a Facebook page, here are some tips and applications that can help develop your staff: 1. Import contacts from your email list. You can do this from your Facebook homepage. Find the "Get Connected" on the right side of your profile. Click on "Find Your Friends" under where it says: "Who's on Facebook?" This will take you to "Find Friends" where you will be prompted to add your e-mail provider. If your domain is yourbusinessname.com and you use Microsoft Outlook, select "other services e-mail" and click the little link that says "File importer. Then click on "Find my Windows Contacts" when prompted and click "run" or "allow" when security is posted. This will display a list of all your contacts in Outlook that you are not friends with on facebook. When you add friends to your e-mail service, Facebook asked to invite other contacts that you do not need to join Facebook. I advise everyone to invite as many of these are the email addresses of people who are not tied to their Facebook account. In other words, are probably not, but use a different email account. If you go through each name and find people who are not Facebook friends, write your name on Facebook and see if they come up. If they are, add them as a friend, rather than bombing by e-mail. Remember that with the addition of these people are friends, not necessarily motivate them to "like" your Fan Page. After you add your e-mail contacts, please go to the Fan Page, select the "Suggest Friends" and select the people who think like that to be your fan. 2. Creating a Welcome tab and other visual elements help convincing Static FBML. Facebook Pages come standard with the "Wall", "Information", "Photos", "Opinion" and "Video" tab automatically.
