Spiral Point taps have an angled flute at the tip and are used for machine
H.S.S. tapping of through holes. The swarf is forced ahead of the tap so allowing the
use of smaller flutes, and thus resulting in a stronger tap. They can be used in
blind holes provided there is sufficient clearance for the swarf.
Taps Spiral flute taps are suitable for blind holes as the swarf is drawn up the flutes.
This stops the flutes clogging and prevents thread tearing and chipping.
