Packaging Industry in the Northeast (Massachusetts) seeks Vice President, Supply Chain If your background and interests are strongly aligned with this position, please send your resume as a Word Document to: Karla Hammond 860-267-2690 karlahammond@sbcglobal.net Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Supply Chain will be the most senior supply chain executive and will have responsibility for sourcing, purchasing, customer service, corporate projects, order processing, warehousing and delivery. This person will oversee the supply chain budget and operating performance, along with key service, quality and cost metrics and focus on continuous improvement programs. Key supply chain functions include: Sourcing: This person will be responsible for maintaining strong, working relationships with all suppliers and third-party transportation companies. Logistics: He/She will oversee inventory management, including forecasting, replenis hment, production scheduling and warehousing. This person will be responsible for timely and accurate shipping to all customers and managing transportation employees and third-party providers. Customer Service: He/She will oversee the Customer Service d epartment, which handles customer order processing, customer relations, and contract and rebate administration. Quality: This person will manage quality across the full product line and all new product development. He/She will ensure that the company is current in all certifications. My client is seeking someone who has led supply chain (functions listed above) across a multi-plant network, and should be experienced in paper converting or another light manufacturing industry. He/She should be highly “process-driven” and understand general best practices in similar environments and have worked in a diverse, high- volume product environment. The right candidate will have demonstrated the ability to continuously improve a supply chain and manage complex customer needs. The successful candidate will have successfully managed logistics throughout North America, preferably including North/South transportation. This role will require someone who is a leader and mentor capable of building, managing and developing an outstanding performance-oriented team. Strong communications skills, drive, energy level, and problem-solving abilities will be critical for the success of this individual. The ability to work across all disciplines and throughout all levels of the organization in a persuasive and credible manner is a must. He/she will have the ability to work effectively with other executives in a team environment toward common goals and objectives. This includes having a track record of building a strong, collaborative working relationship with manufacturing, as well as interacting with areas outside of supply chain such as marketing, product development and finance. Qualifications: Bachelor ’s degree in Engineering/Applied Science/ Mathematics or related field Advanced degree and knowledge of six sigma and lean concepts Minimum of 15 years of broad-based supply chain experience
