Sergio Canales reveals discontent over playing time at Real Madrid Real Madrid midfielder Sergio Canales has told Goal.com that his first season at the club has been less than perfect, but is willing to discover what his future holds when he sits down with management next week. The 20-year-old played in 10 Liga matches and made just 15 appearances in all competitions during the 2010-11 campaign. The lack of playing time has frustrated the Spanish U-21 star and his future in the capital city is far from certain. "It has been a very difficult season for me. I didn't have as many playing minutes as I would have liked," he told Goal.com. "When you don't play regularly then you cannot be happy. Any player wants to play as much as possible, and when you don't then you can't be content." And it's these concerns over a lack of first team action that has led to speculation over a summer exit. "It is a little too soon to say if I will leave Madrid. Next week I will speak with the club to see what my future holds," he added. "I am ready to discover what lies ahead and I want to speak about many things. What Madrid want. What other clubs want and what I want. Things will become clear [when I speak with the club]." Canales as a contract with Madrid that runs until 2016.
