The process involves a design dependency chain that starts with the laying out of the street network and ends with the modelling of building envelopes. This process is Experience As an architect I’ve been involved in design and computation for 14 years, as advanced user of CAD and 3D modelling packages and creating interactive 3D environments. Currently I’m responsible for the development of decision support tools for GIS, which are used in practice and research. I have experience in VB and C++ programming, and scripting in various environments. Parametric Urban Design Being involved in master planning projects in Europe and the Middle East, we have the need to explore new tools that enable a more streamlined and dynamic design process. I’m currently interested in developing design support tools for CAD packages, combining generative algorithms with analysis and evaluation techniques, applied to urban planning. dynamic as design changes made at any level percolate up and down the chain. At the workshop I would like to explore two stages of the process: • How different street networks and block structures can be generated to stitch a site with its context • How plot parcelling and building envelopes can be derived from programmatic intensions and socioeconomic criteria
