JUBILATE Term 2/ No. 4 Cell: 078-369-6459 JOURNAL 17 June 2009 Web: www.jubilateprimary.co.za COPIES OF CONTRACTS Grade 0 and 1 families will be receiving copies of their contract signed with the school. This is just for your personal reference. Other parents who have misplaced their copies may request additional copies from the office. LOST PRESCRIPTION GLASSES Ofentse Maupye has misplaced his prescription glasses. The glasses have a light green frame and are in a black case. Please assist us by returning these to the office should they inadvertently have been taken home by someone else. LIFT REQUIRED Lift required for a child from-to Noordwyk. Please contact Mrs Moonian (082 378 6015) if you can assist. GENERAL HYGIENE We have recently identified a number of issues concerning the personal hygiene of some of our learners. 1. Some students wear the same clothes for a whole week without any washing being done. This is not acceptable at any age and we urgently request that parents check their children’s clothes regularly. 2. Learners must bring changing clothes for PE. Their PE clothes are sweaty and smelly after the exercise and they need to change back into their school uniforms then. They cannot do physical exercises by merely taking off a jacket and then returning to class in the sweaty clothes. 3. Grades 3-7 learners need to use deodorant, especially on sports days. 4. Torn clothes need to be repaired. 5. Hair needs to combed/brushed regularly. Girls’ hair should not hang in their eyes, but be clipped back from the face and boys’ hair must be kept short. SCHOOL FEES Thank you to the majority of our parents who pay their fees on time. We really appreciate your support in this matter. Unfortunately there are a few parents who have problems keeping up to date with their fees and refuse to discuss their issues with us or even respond to our communication. As a result of the financial problems being experienced throughout the country we are dealing with non-payments far quicker than previously. School fees are payable on presentation of invoice and not over 30 or 60 days. We are obliged to pay our service providers on time and do not have excess money to cover outstanding fees. Where fees are overdue and no communication has been received from the parent the learner will be removed from the class until the required payments have been received. LATECOMERS - GATE CLOSED All school gates will close at 7h30 in the morning. Parents who are late are requested to drop their children off at the office. The children will then be taken to class. This is an additional security measure which should prevent unknown people from entering the school buildings. It will also allow managem ent to ascertain which children are continuously late. SICK NOTES Parents are once again requested to send a sick note to school if children have missed a day of school. This provides the school with information regarding the well being of the child and m ay help us in dealing with further problems in class. We do realise that parents are busy, but a note just takes a few minutes of your time and would really help us. Children who miss exams need a doctor’s letter before being able to write the exam when they return to school. EXTRA MURAL SPORTS PRACTICE TIMETABLE There will be no extra mural netball practices or matches this week. Next week soccer practice will be as normal. However, there will be no netball practice or netball match next Thursday. ANNUAL SPORTS DAY AT SUMMIT Summit College’s annual Netball and Soccer day will be held on 20 June from 8h00. Jubilate School will be participating in this event, and all learners and parents are invited to come and support our players. Learners participating have already been advised. LEARNERS LEAVING JUBILATE AT THE END OF 2009 Parents who are relocating at the end of the year are requested to let us know as soon as possible. We have a number of learners on our waiting list for 2010 and need to know how many spaces we have open to place these learners. Houses are made of wood and stone, but only love can make a home.
