How to Copy a MIDAS Exam, Assignment, or Survey to Word Performing the following steps will copy a MIDAS exam, assignment, or survey to Microsoft Word for future manipulation and copying to Blackboard via an interim program named Respondus. In this context, “assignment” means an activity in the MIDAS Content area which is similar to a quiz. 1. Go to Exams, Content, or Surveys for a section. 2. Mouse over an exam title, assignment title, or survey title and select “View” from the drop-down menu. 3. Select all questions in the test by right-clicking the test and choosing “Select All.” 4. After selecting, right-click again and choose “Copy.” Open Word as a new document. 5. Paste the text you copied into the new document. You will see extraneous material including a variety of web-based icons. We are going to get rid of them! 6. From the Word “File” menu, select Save As. 7. On the Save As screen, from the “Save as type” list scroll down , choose “Plain Text (*.txt)” and save the test or assignment in an appropriate folder with an appropriate name. 8. Close the file and reopen. Voilà! This gets rid of all of the areas for selecting the correct answer, etc. 9. Repeat steps 1-8 for all other exams, assignments, and surveys. While this does not copy the answers to your test or assignment, at least you have the majority of the information. And after all, you DO know the answers to your questions, right? Right!
