“You turned my wailing into dancing, you removed may sack-
cloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever”. Psalm 30:11‐12, NIV As we grow older, it appears that adults cease to enjoy childhood activities except during times with grandchildren. Too bad we wait so long for life is so full of fun, joy, songs, dancing, and laughter. At this time in my life, watching rain drops fall, swinging in the park, making mud pies with a tiny partner, flying a kite, or whistling along with a bird’s song are not foolish but evidence of recognition of the Creator of the universe who provides free joys so we can give Him thanks forever. Kites were made to dance in the skies! Some years ago I felt more like a kite stuck in a tree due to a severe set back in my health. Medical advice brought no resolution. At this de‐ spairing time, God unexpectedly brought a new friend into my life. We shared of hope, and dreams deferred, and God’s light that is always with us. My friend gifted me with music. One song among many songs became a part of our friendship lan‐ guage we prayed for one another and the deep needs in each of our lives. I carry a prayer in my Bible that she wrote for me the following thought… The prayer kites are flying. As a matter of fact I have pre‐ sented our maker with the following petition… Thank you Lord. Amen. I have every confidence that our loving Watcher will grant my prayer. I am going to keep it flying toward heaven until He says (in His own way). “Enough, enough, you’ve got it.) Love, your Abba Father The Kite Song was the joy in the midst of this season of pain that became my lesson. I could have stayed stuck. In‐ stead I began to launch prayer kites to dance in the skies with prayer needs attached to them. Some needs have been an‐ swered. Others await their time. God knew my need then and now. He knows yours and is ready to meet them in unexpected ways. So let’s go fly some kites. We’ll attach our prayers and soar them into God’s loving care. Once entrusted to Him, we will await His perfect timing to respond. Prayer: Lord there is a time for everything under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3. Thank you that at times of need a true friend can come to us bringing hope and love and new ways to sing to you. Amen.

Don’t miss all the fun!!
The summer has been busy already! Think about it. Vacation Bible School, 13 Miles, prayer meetings, on location Bible studies, Father’s Day, and vacations have kept us all pretty crazy. I am abso‐ lutely pumped about the remainder of the summer though. I cannot wait to see how the Lord continues to work in our church and student ministry. Let me take this opportunity to remind you about a few upcoming events. Freedom Fest will be here shortly! This is going to be an awesome time together with others in our community. I want to encourage you to pray for and attend this time where we can invest in the lives of those around us. Our country was founded on Christian values and principles, regardless of what others may say, and this is going to be a time where can celebrate that fact with one another, our families, and those in our community. Also, do not forget about camp. It is only a few days away. If you have not completed your camp payments, you need to do so today! Trust me, this will not be “just another camp.” I promise you that if you miss this camp, you will be missing an amazing time of worship and study in the Word. Finally, allow me to conclude with just a word or two about our church. First, I truly am blessed to be a part of such an awesome staff here who gets to serve such an awe‐ some church family. I am so very thankful for the opportu‐ nity to serve God through this body called Calvary. With that in mind, I want to encourage each one of you to take a few moments and jot down all of the amazing people, ministries, and things at or about our church. I believe that when you take the time to do this, you will truly see that the Lord is at work in Calvary! Let Him work in you this week. God is up to some wonderful things. Why don’t we all decide to come together and join Him as He does so!
