Message from the Principal: Congratulations on a “practically perfect” school year! From Walkathon to Movie Night to Family Fun Night our community gathered together to create happy, kid-centered memories for all. From the first day of school to the last lingering moments I know that kids learned the lessons necessary for success. Thank you for sending us children who are so ready to learn and to give from the heart. As we move into summer vacation please keep in mind that daily reading is key to literacy. Read with your child daily, regardless of age. Newspapers, magazines, books... all are so very much fun to share at any age. Public libraries have reading programs and Hicklebee’s bookstrore on Lincoln Ave. has a really fun opportunity to hook kids into books. As an educator I am less concerned about what children read independently than that they actually spend time enjoying reading. Keep reading!

BESCA Box Tops Mrs. Brown’s Kinder. class has won our latest Box Tops contest. Students will receive gift certificates to Powell’s Sweet Shoppe. We raised over $1,900 this year from the Box Tops program! Keep clipping over the summer, and we’ll be starting up another contest when school starts in August. Thanks to everyone who has clipped!
