Student Transfer Status for Cypress-Fairbanks Schools for the 2008-2009 School Year District schools have been designated as: (a) open for a specified number of student transfers: (b) regular transfer status following policy and regulations: (c) closed for all new transfers except children of district employees, following FDB (LOCAL); or (c) closed (N) for all new transfers. The superintendent or designee may make an exception for extenuating circumstances, as authorized by Board Policy FDB (LOCAL). Schools “OPEN” for Transfers These schools are designated as “OPEN” to a specific number of transfer students for 2008-2009. Robinson (25) Warner (100) Middle Schools Cook (50) Truitt (25) High Schools Cy-Fair** (100) 11th & 12th grade only Cypress Ranch** (300) 9th & 10th grade only **Subject to UIL regulations and district policies governing participation in extracurricular activities. Parents must submit a completed transfer application to the school or the Office of Student Transfers, Cy-Fair Annex, 22602 Hempstead Hwy., Cypress, TX 77429 along with a $25 transfer fee per application between April 1 and May 1, 2008. Students may select an open campus for a variety of reasons including personal preference. Space available based upon grade level projections and staff allocations at each campus. The Office of Student Transfers will review applications and notify parents by May 16, 2008. After May 1, 2008, any transfer request to an open campus will follow “REGULAR” policy subject to principal approval (see below). Schools following “REGULAR” Transfers Regulations These schools will follow regular transfer regulations whereby the application goes to the school principals who approve or deny the transfer request based on factors such as day care needs (Pre-K through 6th grade), extenuating circumstances, and the availability of space on the campus. Students requesting to renew a transfer will follow regular transfer policy and are subject to the principal’s approval. Existing transfer students are required to complete a transfer form obtained from the school’s registrar’s office and must be submitted to the principal no later than May 16, 2008. TRANSFER GUIDELINES To receive a transfer, parents must agree to the following stipulations: 1. A transfer approval is for one year only and does not guarantee a continuation at that school for subsequent years. A transfer application must be submitted each year. 2. A non-refundable processing fee of $25.00 per application. If the transfer is denied, the fee will be refunded. Please make check or money orders payable to Cypress-Fairbanks I.S.D. 3. The receiving principal may, at any time, revoke the transfer if the student’s presence is considered disruptive to the educational process (e.g., discipline or attendance problems). 4. Parent must assume responsibility for transportation of all transfer students. 5. High school transfer students are not guaranteed a parking sticker. 6.
