Text: Varberg, Purcell & Rigdon, Calculus, 8th Edition, Prentice-Hall.
Grades: The course grade is based on discussion (20 %), two midterm exams
(20 % each) and a ﬁnal exam (40 %). No calculators or notes will be allowed.
The midterms are in class October 10 and November 21 and the Final exam is
on Tuesday December 17, 10:05 am. Please mark these dates, as there are no
scheduled make-ups.
Homework: Problems listed below are due on Wednesday’s discussion. The
discussion TAs will decide individually on grading policies for homework and
possible quizzes.
Help: Your ﬁrst line of help in this class is your discussion TA, during discus-
sion and their oﬃce hours. I will be available at the oﬃce hours listed above.
