Management Summary
North America
• Credit cards are dominating the US B2C E-Commerce payment market, accounting for a market share of 40% in 2010. This share is expected to
  decrease to 37% until 2015.
• In March 2011, American Express has launched a digital payment and commerce platform to provide consumers with payment options.

Latin America
• With 75% “Credit Card” was the most preferred online payment method in Latin America in 2009, followed by “Debit Card” (13%).
• Many online payment companies plan to expand their businesses in Latin America in 2011, such as Ukash, DineroMail and MercadoPago.
• In June 2010, GlobalCollect introduced its paysafecard service to the Argentine B2C E-Commerce market. Furthermore, SafetyPay and BrasPag
   announced a partnership for the Brazil B2C E-Commerce market in September 2010. Online payment service Paypal is relying on its partnership with
   entertainment site Terra to expand its operations in Brazil.

Europe
• In 2010, “Credit Card” was the most preferred online payment method in Europe with 40%, followed by “Electronic Bank Transfer” with 26%.
• With 58% “Card” was also the most preferred online payment method in the UK in Q3 2010, followed by “Micropayment Services” (23%).
• In France, “Card” (59%) was the most preferred online payment method in Q3 2010, too, followed by “Micropayment Services” (19%).
• With 27% “Invoice” was the most preferred online payment method in Germany in Q3 2010, followed by “Micropayment Services” (26%). “Card” only
  reached a share of 20% on the German market.
• In Spain, “Card” (37%) was the most preferred online payment method in Q3 2010, followed by “Cash on Delivery” (23%).
• The Eastern European market for online payments is increasing. The electronic payment market in Russia grew by +75% in 2010 and reached RUB
  70 billion. Online payment provider Yandex.Money already expanded to other CIS countries such as Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan in 2011.
• In the Czech Republic, “Cash on Delivery” (77%) was the preferred form of payment methods for purchases in online stores in 2010. However,
  regarding online auctions, most respondents (69%) prefer to pay by “Bank Transfer”.

Asia
• The value of the Japanese electronic payment market is expected to reach JPY 49 trillion in 2014, up from JPY 41 trillion in 2010.
• “Cash” (93%) was the preferred payment method of Internet users in China in 2009, followed by “Bankcard” (53%).
• With 71% “Credit Card” was the most preferred online payment method in South Korea in 2010, followed by “Money Transfer” (26%).
• PayPal was able to increase its user base in Singapore by +45% year-on-year to 870 thousand total accounts by the end of 2010.

Oceania
• In 2011, “Credit Card” (76%) is the most preferred payment method for online shoppers in New Zealand, followed by “Debit Card” (29%).

Africa
• With 52% “Credit Card” was the most preferred online payment method in South Africa in 2009, followed by “Debit Card” (26%).
