Replacing / Checking Fan Assembly (BREF)

NOTE: Follow Steps 1-5, Page 16, “Replacing/Check-
ing the Heater Assembly”. Figure 54
Step 1: Detach the wires from the fan transformer. The
wires do not readily detach. Move side-to-side as
you pull out for ease of disconnecting. (Fig. 54)
NOTE: It is a good idea to note down the wire coding
for ease of reassembly. There is a tendency to inter-
change wires of similar colors.
Step 2: Remove the fan assembly with the plate
mounting by unscrewing the two (2) screws on
   either side. (Fig. 55)
Reassemble in reverse order. FP1712

Step 2: Remove the four (4) screws, two (2) at the
bottom and two (2) in the front of the fascia control
panel. (Fig. 57) Circuit board and controls are ac-
   cessible.

Tips on the Electrical Components in the
Fascia Control Assembly (DEF)
Tip 1: When replacing the circuit board (for the DC
Motor), never connect the potentiometer to the new
circuit board with the power switched on. This will
damage the transistorized circuitry due to a pos-
    sible surge. FP1714

Tip 2: To ascertain if either the circuit board or the DC
Motor is defective, try checking the circuit board Figure 57
first to avoid the tedious process of replacing the
    DC Motor. (Fig. 57)

Tip 4: Make sure that prior to operating the unit in
either the 240V or 120V option the double throw
switch inside the electrical box assembly is appro-

Tip 5: Never switch the double throw switch with the
