        Our self-contained guest houses offer a unique,
    affordable vacation getaway in an informal
    atmosphere, making them the perfect spot for
    families, groups, couples and individuals. According
    to Down East magazine, these houses operate like
    self-service inns with no on-premise innkeeper. They
    offer an informal setting, with everything from
    linens to plates in place and waiting.

    The three Maine Houses are located in the quiet
village of Bryant Pond in the mountains of western
Maine – the perfect base for outdoor activities

                              providing excellent
                              downhill skiing. The

                                Maine’s natural beauty

       Located on the shores of Lake Christopher, The
    Maine House is a spacious country house offering a
    variety of amenities not found in most guest houses
    or bed and breakfast’s, including:
       I Nine comfortable bedrooms with sleeping
          space for up to 33
       I Seven full baths and one half bath
          (private and shared)
       I Large recreation room accented with knotty
          pine paneling, hardwood floors and a
          floor-to-ceiling fireplace

   A recently restored historic house, The Maine
Farm House offers country charm and character
with new and modern conveniences. Surrounded
by an open meadow, it is just a short walk from The
Maine House. The house offers three sections which
can be used together for a large group or separately
for small groups or individuals.

  I Seven tastefully decorated bedrooms, each with
    private baths, that can sleep up to 24 people
  I Three hand-crafted fieldstone fireplaces, one
    in each section of house

Directions to The Maine Houses
    From Boston/Providence: I-95 North to Maine
Turnpike, North to Exit 11-Gray. Take Route 26 North
toward Bryant Pond/Bethel for 42 miles. Pass through
Norway and South Paris to Bryant Pond. In Bryant Pond,
Route 26 makes a sharp right turn in front of the post
office at the flashing yellow light. Immediately after this
turn, you will see a large Victorian house on the right.
This is the MountainView House, 2 Main Street. You’ll
also see a green and white sign with The Maine Houses
logo and directions to the other houses. To proceed to
The Maine House and The Maine Farm House, take your
first left and cross over railroad tracks, go straight on
Lake Road. The Maine Farm House is the first house on
the right, 20 Lake Road. The Maine House is the third
house on the right, 30 Lake Road.
    From New Hampshire/Bethel area: Take Route
26 South. Approximately 8.3 miles from Bethel, you will
enter the village of Bryant Pond. Pass a ballfield on the
right and take the second right onto Lake Road.
    Driving times from major cities:
    Boston - 3 hours                 Providence - 4 hours
    Hartford - 5 hours               Portsmouth - 2 hours
    New York City - 7 hours          Philadelphia - 9 hours

     Directions to The Cape House
         From New York: Take I-95 North to 195 East in
     Providence. Continue to Route I-495/25 East and follow
     the signs to Falmouth/The Islands. Cross the Bourne
     Bridge and take Route 28 South.
         From Hartford: Take I-84 East to I-90 (Mass.
     Turnpike). Take I-90 East to I-495 South (Exit 11A).
     Continue on I-495/25, following the signs for Falmouth/
     The Islands over the Bourne Bridge and take Route 28
         From Boston: Take Route 3 South to the Sagamore
     rotary. Take Route 6 West toward Buzzards Bay/
     Falmouth. Cross the Bourne Bridge and take Route 28
         From Bourne Bridge to The Cape House:
     Stay on Route 28 South for approximately 12 miles. One
     mile after the four lane road turns into two lanes, take a
     left at the first light onto Jones Road. Proceed to the
     second traffic light and turn right onto Davis Straits
     Road. Continue approximately 1/4 mile and take the
     second left onto Falmouth Heights Road. Proceed 1/2
     mile, pass the Island Queen ferry and turn left onto
     Harbor Avenue. The Cape House is the first house on the
     left, 8 Harbor Avenue.
         Driving times from major cities:
         Boston - 1.5 hours              Philadelphia - 6 hours
         Hartford - 3 hours              Portland - 3.5 hours
         New York City - 5 hours

Telephone reservations are accepted, but not
confirmed until receipt of payments. A confirming
letter is then sent.
   Groups – Special group payment schedules are
provided in three to six payments prior to arrival.
Group payments by check only.
   Individuals – A payment of 50% of the entire
cost of your stay is required within seven days of a
reservation. The balance is due four weeks prior to
your first night’s lodging. Personal checks, cash,
Discover, Visa and MasterCard are accepted for

   Your payment less 10% will be returned for
cancellations made more than 30 days prior to
arrival. We regret that there are no refunds for
no-shows or cancellations made 30 days or less
before arrival. Inquire for group cancellation
   Children are welcome at the houses. Kids under
12 stay free when sharing a room with parents.
(The Cape House has a special children’s policy.
Please call for details.)
   Because some of our guests are allergic to pets,
no pets of any kind are allowed at any of the houses.
No Smoking
  Smoking is not permitted at any of the houses.

   Please bring your own linens and towels. We
provide pillows and blankets.
