Mental Health Assistance for Teens and Children
The summer months often lead to a time of limited structure for kids. School is out, and it is difficult
for families to fill in the hours of the day with healthy, appropriate activities. Lack of things to do often leads to kids getting into
mischief or sitting in front of the tv for hours on end. It is time to start thinking now of how structure can be implemented into
summer vacation. Look for opportunities of new hobbies or extracurricular activities. Summer camps and classes are abundant;
get your kids signed up. Make sure there are limits to tv time, texting, and internet. Implement assigned chores each day. Think
about whether your child is old enough for a job or volunteer work. Plan a family vacation. Don’t be afraid to get the input from
your kids as well. They may have goals they want to accomplish this summer. Call 715-552-1365 with questions or concerns.
